  Per-game joypad settings?
Posted by: UGoBoy - 05-18-2018, 03:42 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (2)

Hello,

I've read over a lot of info on the forum, but I can't find if there's a way to have a bluetooth controller's buttons set up differently for individual games on the Android PPSSPP.

For example, most games I like the default setup, but in something like Monster Hunter would like to move the attack buttons up to the L2/R2 shoulder buttons and the directional pad mapped to my right analog stick.

Thanks for any replies.

GRAN TURISMO - USER BGM WORKING ON PPSSPP
Posted by: BigBoss35 - 05-18-2018, 07:09 AM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - No Replies

If you ever played GTPSP then you'll realize that you can play your own music through your game!

I may be new in this forum, but I found this very useful...

IMPORTANT:
COMPLETE CHALLENGE GROUP A FIRST TO UNLOCK USER BGM FEATURE!!

Now follow my instructions for your GTPSP User BGM!
(You can do this in PC or in Android)
1: Open your Gran Turismo
2: When you reached the main menu, go to settings/options
3: In the settings/options screen, go to the 3rd tab (Audio)
4: In that tab, find User BGM Folder and choose either MUSIC Folder or MUSIC/GTPSP Folder
5 (Optional): Put your BGM volumes to 100
6: Close PPSSPP and open any file managers
7: In your Internal Memory, create a folder named MUSIC. If you already have a Music folder, just rename it to MUSIC (all caps)
8 (Optional): If you selected MUSIC Folder, you're done. If you selected MUSIC/GTPSP Folder, create another folder inside the MUSIC folder and name it GTPSP
9: Find a copy of your desired music
(MAKE SURE YOUR MUSIC IS ON MP3 FORMAT AND HAS ATLEAST 128 BIT. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL MP3 VIDEO CONVERTER TO CONVERT ANY AUDIO/VIDEO TO MP3. YOU CAN ALSO SELECT YOUR DESIRED BIT)
10: Once you found your music, copy or cut it to MUSIC folder IF YOU SELECTED MUSIC in User BGM Folder. And in GTPSP folder IF YOU SELECT MUSIC/GTPSP in User BGM Folder. Remember, its located inside the MUSIC folder
11: Run Gran Turismo again and head over to the settings/options again
12: Go to the Audio Tab and configure the BGM volumes. If your music plays, congrats!

PS: I dunno if there is a limit for your musics, just put everything you wanted to listen to while racing!

Peace!!

Issues with the memory stick... I can't play any games
Posted by: JustinBailey - 05-17-2018, 01:17 AM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (2)

I looked at the FAQs and haven't seen this issue addressed.

I have been trying to play Megaman Maverick Hunter X, it's verified as one of the games that's playable on the emulator.

When I start the game I'm given a message that says "This game contains an autosave feature. Do not remove the memory stick duo or turn off your psp while the memory stick duo access indicator is lit."

Okay, standard stuff, whatever. My only option is to press circle for "back"

After doing so I'm greeted with "No system data found. This game requires at least 256kb of free space to create a system data file. would you like to create one now? (system data is set up to save automatically. The autosave function can be disabled through the OPTIONS menu if desired.)"

Again, pretty normal stuff. Asking for an abysmally low amount of space to create the system data file [256kb is.... not a whole lot]. The options I'm given are "Yes" and "no" while at the bottum is says X is enter and O is back.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand here's where the issue is.
Pressing X while either yes or no are selected just brings up the same message about creating a system data file. Pressing O with either selected gives the same result. No other inputs have any results.

So, I stop the emulation and go into PPSSPP and check to see if memory stick is on, and it is.... because everythings on default settings other than the input mapping.

But, whenever I try to play this game it just ends up giving me this message about system data files and no matter what I do it just goes back to this message.

How to I set up the emulator so that it can create this file? Everything else seems to be working just fine. Also, this is v1.4.2 Windows.

  Android left stick analog axes
Posted by: Wroth - 05-16-2018, 06:58 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - No Replies

Ok, so if there is a thread out there that already covers this, I apologize, but my issue is so oddly specific that I can't find anything. I have a moto z and a moto gamepad. I recently installed ppsspp and tried a game I used to have a UMD of before the cheap plastic housing broke. I've encountered an issue with the analog mapping. Not the D-pad to the right stick like ~97%of the search results I'm getting. I went to the control settings and made sure that the analog up down left and right was all properly mapped to the axes of the left stick of my gamepad, but when I tried playing it was as if my analog stick was emulating a D-pad without the diagonals. It would run fine in any direction, with the appropriate fine directional corrections,ie going from up and slightly left to up and slightly right, but when i moved the stock through the point where a different direction takes priority, ie going from up and slightly left to left and slightly up, it was as if for a brief moment the input was interrupted and the character's movement sort of hesitated. If I remember correctly, back when I had a computer to emulate on and an Xbox controller with wireless receiver, the programs I was using had axis mapping for analog sticks, sometimes with the ability to alter the zones of direction on the stick so that if you're slightly to the left it'll still go straight, which neatly avoided this problem. So basically I'm wondering how to map the axes so that it transitions smoothly from one direction to another. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if you need any further information I'll try to provide it. If also like to add that this app is great, and with the state of most Android games (poor or missing controller support, those stupid recharging energy bars you need to do missions, leader boards, social elements, sometimes no solo campaign at all, ads, and the steep difficulty curve that ensures you can only get so far without buying blueprints or tokens or upgrades or whatever to keep up) I can't find much worth playing except emulators. And I can't afford to buy another Playstation after I bought that damn vita. Should've replaced my ps3 instead. Thank you.

How do you delete old cheat in PPSSPP?
Posted by: godofknife - 05-16-2018, 03:48 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (1)

I usually load cheat from cheat.db that I put in PSP Cheat folder. But, I see that some cheat games do not work. So, I wanted to load using .ini instead of cheat.db.

However, in PPSSPP Cheat, I don't see any options to modify or remove the old one. How am I supposed to use cheat from file .ini instead of loading the cheat from cheat.db?

  Mouse Scroll in Keybinds
Posted by: Arkonite - 05-15-2018, 06:12 AM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (1)

I tried to bind my mouse scroll up/down to keys such as X or Triangle but it does not work in MHFU or Patapon 3. I already enabled mouse control and it seems to work in only in ppsspp menus but not in-game.
Can anyone confirm if theirs is working?

I'm trying to play paragon 2. I downloaded the zip file and every time I try to play it says it needs to be unrar while it's on rar right now. I've tried using unrar apps but it still doesn't work

  Thank you for your work!

I'd like to thank the PPSSPP team for their hard work on this amazing emulator. I saw an advert yesterday for Loco Roco on the PS4, and was thinking of buying the PS4 just to play it, and I mentioned to someone I own Loco Roco on PSP as a physical copy, but my PSP no longer works for a variety of reasons, and none of them would be cheap to fix. He just told me about PPSSPP, and I was immediately thrilled. This emulator is perfect for every game I've tried on it, which was Loco Roco, Coded Arms, GTA VCS and GTA LCS. You guys saved me from making a $200 mistake, just to replay a beloved game, and now I can live my dream of playing Coded Arms with a 360 controller! Thank you so much!
