  0.9.6 has been released!
Posted by: Henrik - 12-12-2013, 01:48 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (35)

What's new in 0.9.6
-------------------
* Large general speed improvements and assorted bug fixes
* "Software Skinning" option which speeds up many games with animated 3D characters
(but may slow down a few, like Monster Hunter - experiment with turning it off)
* Various fixes around stencil/alpha, reducing glow problems in Wipeout and Gods Eater Burst.
* Timing improvements making more games run at the correct FPS, also fixing some audio issues
* More debugger features
* Option for four-way touch dpad, avoiding diagonal dpad issues
* Better looking and individually resizable touch controls
* Add ability to switch UMD in multi-disc games (works for most)
* Emulate PSP-2000 rather than the 1000 model by default. Not much different in practice.
* Automatic install of games from ZIP files, like demos and many homebrew.
* VERY basic ad-hoc online play support, to be improved in future versions. See below.
* Software renderer improvements

[Resolved] v0.9.6 keeps phoning home? [answered: it's a version check]
Posted by: Special - 12-12-2013, 01:33 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (16)

First off grats on the new release, anyway every time I run this emulator my firewall pops up asking for internet connection permissions, how can I get PPSSPP to stop trying to phone home each time it start? I've skimmed all the settings and nothing is checked that would require the internet so there must be something hidden, anyone know what that is.

  Least demanding games on Android
Posted by: Trqrrhmn - 12-12-2013, 09:10 AM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (5)

First of all, thanks for this great emulator. I've been using the PC version for a while and all my games (Crisis Core, God of War, Metal Gear) have worked flawlessly.

Now, I want to try out the android version because it's more portable. I have a 7-inch tablet running Android 4.0.4 with a Cortex A8 1.5 Ghtz Dual Core Processor and a Mali-400MP GPU.

I understand that my tab is too weak to run demanding games like the ones previously mentioned, so I'm looking to try out some less demanding games.

What are some of the least demanding psp games for the Android version? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

6gb ram
x64 laptop
intel Core i3-2370M CPU @2.40GHz

Model : Intel HD Graphics 3000
Open Gl is 3.1

now i know it runs games at full speed(unless theres too many particles but it can still run 100% when i disable sound if there are)
it's not a gaming laptop laptop so it possible to damage my PC running this emulator?

How well will it run on my PC?
Posted by: Damned - 12-12-2013, 02:34 AM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (3)

Sup all.

Wanted to know how well this would run on my PC. As a general idea, I am an accuracy kind of guy, so I like to make my experience on any emulator I play as close to the actual system as possible. I will be turning off any graphics enhancing options and turning on any accuracy improvement options, which I know from past experience, can impact the speed of emulation.

CPU: Intel i7 2700K 3.50GHz
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 570
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 1333Mhz

Looking for full speed at all times in games.

Was running 100% fine, now all games have extreme lag
Posted by: maxmetalero - 12-11-2013, 10:32 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (9)

Last night I downloaded and installed the PPSSPP and started playing Birth by Sleep, and got a couple worlds in, and this morning I woke up and started to play and the game lags extremely.

My graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 6520, and I am running it on Windows 7 (64-bit)

  [Resolved] Controller problem
Posted by: Archimedes - 12-11-2013, 07:19 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (5)

I am trying to get my new controller to work with PPSSPP. It's weird because the old one works flawlessly, but with the new one the emulator doesn't seem to get it's input.

The name of the controller is: Hama uRage Vendetta

What's the best controller for PPSSPP on Android?
Posted by: AAtique - 12-11-2013, 11:36 AM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (8)

I'm not too good at playing using a touchscreen so I'm thinking about buying a gamepad for android. I'm considering both wired and wireless controllers but I don't want to root my phone/tablet. Also as my budget is limited, the lower the price, the better. In your opinion, what's the best gamepad for running PPSSPP on android devices? Thanks in advance. Smile
