RE: Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD VER
I just extracted the EBOOT.PBP from the .pkg on pc, patched it with the v5.00 ps3 patch and when i run it in PPSSPP it comes up with failed to excute, am i missing somthing?

Also in the patcher is says v3.8, what's that about, does it mean the patch?

Don't mind about the patcher version, it shouldn't affect the patch at all. Did you select touched/fixed iso during the patch process? You have to do it. If you did select Untouched iso then you need to dump it and extract the PBP again if you do not have a clean backup.

RE: Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD VER
I had extracted the Data0000's 1.2gb pkg file, used a tool on the pc to extract the EBOOT.PBP twice (As i do not have a working PS3 atm).
That worked fine.

Turned that into an .iso with that mongoose thing, no problems there

Using the MHP3RD_patcher_v1.6.3.exe and the MHP3RD_DATA.bin (PS3 v5.00 Ver)
I patched it as a Touched/Patched ISO

It was patched ran it in PPSSPP
and failed to load executable

PPSSPP v0.8.1 Windows
NPJB40001 (Iso file MHP3rdHD)

v0.8.1-15-g5b5f9cb and onward

It doesn't work in 8.1 official. Get a newer revision.

Unless i'm missing something the lastest build i see is 'v0.8.1-788-g1533b58'
which is still 8.1, and i had already tried the said build , the 'v0.8.1-788-g1533b58' build runs the game but after passing the title screen it messes up.
And even before the title screen the intro video is black, although is does have sound.

also, i don't like the new control settings for that build.
on the one i'm normally using i set it so the the R3 button could pause and unpause the PPSSPP menu screen where you could save and load states, change settings and return to the menu (Controls called it 'Back').

RE: Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD VER
It is still 8.1, but when you mention 8.1 without a version, it implies 8.1 official, meaning 8.1-1, which had no support for this game. Smile

Also, are you running the emulator from Program Files or something? Missing fonts in the MH series are generally caused by running it from Program Files or some directory where you have no permissions to write files. That, or the flash0/font folder is missing.

And yeah, I don't like the new Back behaviour either. It was nice when it both opened and closed the emulator UI at once.

The Windows acc is an Admin and the only acc on it

Move folder
C:\Users\Ripa\PPSSPP v0.8.1-778
Still has fonts

Not really playable it's very messy, almost all wording is coloured black inside a black box in the menu

Is your gpu an amd/ati? I heard that some games have graphical issues when they run on a non-nvidia gpu card, but I don't know if the same applies to Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD.

Ugh...integrated gpu uh...I could only think that those graphical glitches are caused by her, at least if you ensure me that with the latest build framebuffer to memory options are disabled.

I meant the gpu. I tried the same settings as yours, no issues on my end (I use a nvidia gpu though). Anyway enable both hardware transform and vertex cache, those should help you to get a better speed.

The speed is fine, i want to be able to play it without the black menus, otherwise i won't beable to know what i'm doing, also it wasn't translated when the cat thing spoke, was that normal or did the patch not work?

have you tried playing the game without patch?
if the black box still there, then there's something wrong with you gpu, if not then maybe you patch the game wrong (make sure it's the right patch, or try download the older version)
im using this version http://www.ziddu.com/download/22379957/M...0.zip.html
