  Git / Builds installation
Posted by: ponytails - 02-09-2014, 08:22 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (10)

Wow! Angry
I can't believe there is NOWHERE on this forum if you search for: Git android, git install, build install, android install THERE'S NO INFORMATION ABOUT THIS!

Everyone on here is always talking about "well, you should probably use this build, blah blah, if your game isn't working." or "you should probably download this build or this git if your game is having issues" blahhh but NOWHERE on the forums OR on the ppsspp site is there a forum talking about: Where to drop the files, how to merge the files, how to check if the build/git was successfully installed.

WOW. I guess we're all a bunch of high-class professional programmers eh? Maybe you should lock the site and make it only accessible by professional members of your association. *whew* that felt good.

Now, after I have tried "BY MYSELF" to install a git to my windows, did I then get Castlevania SOTN playable. Still a bit jerky. But this topic is about: HOW DO YOU INSTALL GIT/BUILDS ONTO THE ANDROID DEVICE (galaxy note 2 to be more specific) lols

[Solved] Problems with multiple controllers connected to one computer
Posted by: Sarisa81 - 02-09-2014, 06:14 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (4)

I run Windows 7 SP1 64-bit. I first ran into this problem on 0.9.6-r784, but version doesn't seem to matter much; I had the same problem on 0.9.1-r502.

I have a dock for my laptop, with USB ports on the back, more than the laptop itself has. Usually my controller (a Logitech Dual Action, old but it works) remains plugged into one of those ports on the dock.

When I plugged a different controller (a no-name pseudo-NES controller) into one of the USB ports on the laptop itself, the NES controller seemed to take over as "the" controller recognized by PPSSPP. Obviously I couldn't play the game that way but it did recognize button input. PPSSPP did not recognize the PS2 controller at all; it would not accept any input whatsoever from it, even in the control mapping screen. Rearranging controllers, restarting, etc. had no effect; the quickest fix was System Restore!

If I unplug the PS2 controller first then plug in the NES controller I do not have this problem.

The only good hint I got as to what was going on was when I turned on FCEUX and tried to get its controller mapping to work; it recognized the NES controller as "JS 0" (normally it recognizes whatever controller is plugged in as JS 0) and the PS2 controller as "JS 255".

I know that's not a very helpful report, but I would like to get to the bottom of what's going on here and would be willing to provide whatever other information is needed.

Windows/WINE: PPSSPP now requires the VS 2013 runtimes as of v0.9.6-804-g9c41246
Posted by: Stevec - 02-09-2014, 05:45 AM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (25)

Hi guys ,hope this is the right place to post this problem
I tried 9.6.813 and comes up with error screen 'missing msvp120.dll file" and wont execute and unable to get it to run at all - i checked the previous version i have 9.6.779 - works no worries and i have the lastest drivers installed - any suggestions? - or is it the build not working for xp.

Mod edit/summary: PPSSPP for Windows now requires the Visual Studio 2013 runtimes for newer builds, so if you receive missing DLL errors, download the runtimes and install them. If you're using WINE, extract the installer and put the msvcp120.dll file in the same folder as PPSSPP's exe in your WINE prefix folder. More details about WINE issues relating to this can be found here.

Games that are playable on the Android version of PPSSPP?
Posted by: sagethesausage - 02-09-2014, 04:20 AM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (27)

Discovered this emulator a few months ago. Back then the number of playable PSP games on the Android version were lesser than the number of fingers I have. Recently I saw on reddit that this emulator now has compatibility with quite a lot of PSP games. I cant seem to find a thread that list all the compatible games for the PPSSPP on Android so might as well ask around on the forums.

I have a Nexus 7 with Tegra 3 processor if that helps. Should be decent enough in terms of processing power.

So far I've only tried Dragon ball z budokai and it works perfectly (save for the multiplayer which I know is just wishful thinking). One game that I would really like to play is Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker as my PSP broke before that game was released. Will MGS work on the Android version?

  Save state crash
Posted by: Vhin56 - 02-08-2014, 06:45 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (3)

Occasionally, when I attempt to save state, PPSSPP will completely crash and I have to manually close it from the Task Manager. Then, when I load the game up again and attempt to load the state that crashed it, I am informed that the state is "for an older version of PPSSPP", even though it clearly wasn't.

Basically, this means save states are unreliable, because, unless you consistently remember to switch slots, you'll lose your savestate completely and return to the last game save, which can be incredibly frustrating.

The game I've been playing is Persona 3 Portable, however it doesn't really seem like it'd make sense for a save-state crash to be game-specific, so I don't think it's related. I just don't have any other games to try it out on. In any case, there's no problems playing the game.

It's also not every time, either. Or even very often. I'm about 42 hours into the game, and have been using save states pretty heavily, and it's still only happened about 4 or 5 times.

I've never had it happen from the "save state file", so I've been trying to use that to minimize the lost progress.

OS: Win7 32-bit.

And yes, I am using the latest version.

Posted by: AlfaM03 - 02-08-2014, 04:01 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (10)

hi guys! i reeeeally need your help on this. i usually play my ppsspp on my eeepad transformer tf101. and i use my keyboard dock to input controls on my game. i then downloaded a fairly new build. 0.9.6.778 i think it was. that was last week and ever since i installed and updated to the new build my ppsspp can't register inputs from my keyboard's alphanumeric keys(esp the LETTER KEYS) but can still register inputs from my arrow keys, spacebar, enter, shift, etc. it detects the inputs from my alphanumeric keys when i change the control mapping but when i start a game, they dont work. :/ anybody experiencing this issue as well?   PPSSPP Final Release
Posted by: curraja - 02-08-2014, 12:32 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (13)

Hai! (This is a future question)

(MY QUESTION IS DIRECTED TO DEVS) so im expecting answers from DEVS thanks for understanding .

Im wondering from few months will PPSSPP will have a final release which will allow us to play all games on the same setting set without changing it for each game? Im asking cause i noticed today that i was able to run GOW today with full speed (but i had to set clock to 60) but game was only half Playable cause i had to play it without buffer rendering "screen in some moments was really dark i had no idea where am i"since in buffer mode game is slow like snail... Another one is Wipeout Pulse&Fusion i thought that clock at 60 would help preventing massive lag but instead of helping my screen was flickering and flashing on all rainbow colours and crashed on almost all of my 50 games . So are we getting close to anything called Final to let us play without changing settings over and over? Oh i noticed as well that games are looking really good wirh PSP rendering 1:1 (as would without rendering) but lags like hell. Will lots of those options that most of us doesnt understand (even with guides) and make us confusing to configure them all *.* will even dissapear giving us full stable version? . Anyway back to my question are we there yet?

hi there and thx to everyone supporting this programm.

i just installed it (kubuntu 12.04), it works great but i have no sound at all (tried different games).
i found some hints thx to google. so i downloaded the libMaiAT3PlusDecoder script (from karen angelxwind) and "maked" it. i got the library but strangely not as noted with an "so" after the dot at the end but just an "a". and this one neither works in the lib folder nor in the folder where ppssppsdl is located. i tried to rename it but this also doesnt work.
any idea where to start?

thx in advance! :-)

  exit game without screen menu
Posted by: hamzie - 02-07-2014, 06:33 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (4)

How do i exit a game without the screen menu? When i press escape. the game quits but the screen menu of ppsspp appears. I tried using a script making ESC to ALT+F4 and it works but it can also quit my frontend hyperspin, so ALT+F4 is not an option. Is there a command line i can add so that the screen menu of ppsspp wont show?
