Shield Portable crashing for various reasons
Posted by: rotyflo - 07-20-2015, 09:13 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - No Replies

I've always had issues with my Shield. Though I've seen countless videos of Monster Hunter 3rd running, I could never seem to run the game without it immediately crashing. Sometimes I would fiddle back and forth with the settings and it would start, but then all of the text boxes would be blacked out. Dissidia Duodecim also has black triangles all over the place on the first stage and Birth by Sleep had some serious lag. I picked up the Shield after not having messed with it for months and all of these games worked flawlessly. I figured the 101 update had fixed my issues or a bad driver was replaced with. I reset the system so that I could start with a clean slate, and now all of the same problems are back AND PPSSPP HW Scaler only has Native Device Res., Auto, 1x and 2x listed as options. 2x is the default and if I change it to any other resolution, the app crashes.

If someone could give me some ideas that would be great. I've looked into this for almost a year now with no luck.

  1 adapter, 2 controllers, 2 computers.
Posted by: Stronglime - 07-20-2015, 02:00 AM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (1)

Hi! The community seems quite expert on controller issues and I wondered if you could help me.

I currently have 2 Playstation controllers connected on one computer by an adapter, but I now want to play Co-Op PSP using the controllers on 2 different computers (I don't think my computer can handle 2 emulations simultaneously)

What's the best solution to tackle this problem? Is it possible to stream over network the controller input?

Adreno 420 (Snapdragon 805 - Galaxy Note 4) poor performance
Posted by: cooliscool - 07-19-2015, 06:39 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (7)

I expected PPSSPP to run like a dream on my new Note 4, but it does not. The only game I've got for the moment, Metal Gear Acid, runs at 18fps-fullspeed, often dropping frames and rarely running at fullspeed. I've tried many different combinations of settings, and the result is always the same, even at native PSP resolution (in fact, there's no difference between native PSP and my device's native - 2560x1440). My device is optimized heavily, and there's nothing aside from the bare minimum of Android resources running in the background, so I'm confused. I've heard that the Adreno's drivers are a mess, but this just makes no sense to me. I get 49479 overall in Antutu, and 16800 GPU, which are top of the line scores.

Anyone with a similar device have any ideas? I saw a post where a guy with an Adreno 330 device was running PPSSPP at full speed. The 420 is many times faster than the 330. :/

Edit: tested with Megaman Maverick Hunter X, and even it runs like absolute shit ingame. Menus are fine, but I'm getting like half speed, 30/60 FPS, ingame. Ugh.

  inverted y axis ps3 controller
Posted by: gfunk01 - 07-19-2015, 03:43 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (1)

I've installed the latest version of the emulator for windows and want to use my ps3 controller. I've been able to map everything else from controller fine, but the y axis is completely inverted regardless of how I map it. The x axis is mapped fine.

I use motionjoy/ds3 program to use the controller on my computer which has worked w/ other emulators and games and shows the analog stick mapped correctly within.

By inverting the mapping through ds3 program, I can map correctly on the emulator (w/in ds3 it inverts though), but would prefer to have a fix so that the controller works consistently on everything. Appreciate the help. Thanks.

I used savestate normally, then one day i got this error:

Error: After "IntrHandler", found 0 (0x0) instead os save marker 66 (0x42).
Aborting savestate load...

Then the game restart from the beginning.

Anyone got this error? is there some way to recover my savestate?

Sad PPSSPP slowed down all of sudden
Posted by: FediOK - 07-17-2015, 07:29 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (9)

Hi guys, the emulator was so awesome for me, i played my games on a very decent pc, all of them on cool settings and such. They used to run smooth and chic, but today the emulator is working absolutely SLOW. I've tried rebooting, changing every possible graphic setting on the emu (but it was not needed a week(!) ago) updating my video drivers and reinstalling the emulator itself. Nothing worked for me.
Please someone help me, I am desperate. I am pretty sure the PC hardware works just fine, so i will try and reinstall Windows as a last resort.
Any help will be apreciated

If you need any extra information, feel free to ask. Thank you/

  [Solved] Limiting speed
Posted by: silverwinds - 07-14-2015, 12:07 PM - Forum: General Discussion and Announcements - Replies (1)

Okay, I read through the beginners guide, but I might have missed it, really sorry if I did. But is there a way to limit speed? like I dont want the game to play faster on its own with out me pressing the turbo button. so far ive only run Disedia Final Fantasy, and it hasnt been slow, just the opposite, its sometimes twice as fast, and that makes it very difficult to play. Is there a run limiter or something?

I had hit the key to turn turbo on, my mistake playing with a keyboard not a gamepad yet. had wanted to make sure my machine could run games first
