problems since build 1488 on Mali GPU
Hi Henrik and team,

First of all thanks for such a great app! totally awesome!

I'm using ppsspp on a galaxy ace 2 running stock jelly bean.

Since builds after 1 October (after 1488) games like crisis core and others show buggy graphics or just black screen.

I've seen other posts about other builds, but I don't know if these are related problems. Sorry for double posts...

I hope it can be fixed!

Grtz.

RE: problems since build 1488
Could you go to Game Settings -> System -> Developer Tools -> System Information and tell us the GPU Vendor and GPU Model from in there(or a screenshot, if you have the ability to do so)?

Should look something like this:

4GHz AMD 3900X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 6GB Nvidia RTX 2060, Asus Crosshair 7 Hero (Wifi), Linux

RE: problems since build 1488
Hi Daxtsu,

Thanks for the quick reply!

I tried to fit an attachment but it says too large for the forum.

But the GPU says ARM Mali 400 MP.

Hope this helps. If you need more info, let me know!

RE: problems since build 1488
Hi
It's definitely a Mali 400.

I've tried build 1676 today and found that only buffered setting works. Non-buffered rendering shows no graphics at all or just small parts.

I hope this helps.
Grtz.

The native commit there was

https://github.com/hrydgard/native/commi...c222b69a91

Fixed some related things later, did you try the very latest builds?

Tried the latest git yesterday, im gonna try the latest build and will report back

EDIT: Tried the latest 1902 and still the black screen, the actual rendering seems to shows a little on the buttons overlay, when i take the screenshots or change to recent apps, the rendering is perfect on those, im using latest ROM AOKP 4.3.1

RE: problems since build 1488
This kind of thing is SO FRUSTRATING. You fix stuff on one device and it breaks on another one. Gah.

But, AOKP? Isn't that some custom thing? Do you know if it works with a stock ROM?

Wonder if we end up creating a context with no Z buffer..

RE: problems since build 1488
Can you get ADB logs? If so, can you run a recent build and look for the following line:

NativeEGLConfigChooser: Final chosen config: ???????

And tell me what's instead of the question marks...

RE: problems since build 1488
Update: With the rev 1963 the problem still, its looks like a black overlay between the game rendering and the buttons, very strange
