RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
So, the ghosts bug still exists in the newer version, 1.0.1. It can be solved by using non-buffered rendering, but it makes the game much darker when this effect should happen.

Tough, it is not a bug itself. It's an effect from the game, that happens even in the PSP itself, but doesn't look bad at a small screen. It is used to brighten up places and make a blur like effect. Although, at higher resolutions, it even gave me headaches Tongue

We can even see that in some arenas, such as Sky Fortress Bahamut, this effect doesn't exist, so the game doesn't look blurred even using buffered rendering. But when it should happen, as during EX Bursts, for example, the game became much blurred, or with non-buffered rendering, much darker. To fix this, we would probably need a game specific hack.

Here goes some screenshots. P.S.: Ignore Vaan without legs, Direct3D9 bug with non-buffered rendering Tongue

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
I haven't started checking the builds yet, but for anyone else who can't proceed through the story, try changing the backend to OpenGL. The cutscene loaded for me with OpenGL in 1.0.1-r432, when it crashes in DirectX9.

Edit: After setting up a quicksave right before the cutscene for easier testing and loading from that quicksave, I can't reproduce the hang at all. Bizarre.

I only use PPSSPP on Windows.

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
Non buffered rendering is a hack that prevents the game from using buffers in its rendering. The PSP allowed games to use buffers for their rendering.

The reason it makes it darker is because the game uses a buffer to blur and bring the scene back to correct brightness. You lose both effects (the blur and also the brighten) when disabling the ability of the game to use buffers.

Has it always crashed in Direct3D? It might just be your video driver, though.

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
Another issue, a possible wontfix: in Nonbuffered Rendering with DirectX9 backend, in 1.0.1 release and 1.0.1-r432, characters in battle are mostly invisible. Buffered Rendering fixes this.

I only use PPSSPP on Windows.

Problem with Dissidia 012's voices
So, voices dont sound when you start the battle (Long and short intro cutscenes) and when you get defeated or win, but they do work in-battle.

Also, after the intro there is a "VS XX Character" and that doesnt appear as well, and all said works perfectly fine on my friend's computers.

Can someone help me? Without them the game loses a lot of charm to me Sad

PPSSPP 1.0.1 issues
So with PPSSPP 1.0.1, I am currently experiencing issues that have come up in past versions of PPSSPP but have reportedly been fixed previously.

While playing Dissidia Duodecim, I have misplaced graphics that create a ghostly, blurring effect whenever playing with buffered rendering.

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
I have a little problem. A piece of Onion Knight's face is missing when he is using the Sage job during EX Mode from the Slasher outfit. It's shown below:

Compared to using the Sage job during EX Mode from his default outfit...

So, how can I take care of this? Is this a problem with the game itself or the emulator? I made sure all of the hack-related settings are turned off.
