Seems to not matter what I do, it won't budge.

I think this game needs a look-see by the devs. Seems to be a pretty problematic game for 0.9.9, I got some odd bugs before this roadblock too.

I think the issue is on your end, I've got no issues with selecting the first mission and playing it:-
Using v0.9.9-46-g60ad1df with system in signature.

The issue is with the world map because inside rifts, it works fine so chapters like Laguna load fine at the beginning since they start in the rift but once you get to the world map, it crashes.

Interesting. Could you attach your savedata/savestate so that other devs and testers could reproduce this issue? Thanks in advance.

EDIT:- Hmm.. I'm in the world map in the prologue, and the game's still okay. No crashes here.

EDIT2:- Yeah, after completing the chapter 0 prologue for Lightning, it dumps me back to the chapter menu, and Chapter 1 loads just fine as I've mentioned previously.

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

Okay, in my case, Vaan crashes RIGHT at the start since it begins on the map so that's the one to test and it happened with any save I use so it is not an issue with my save.

0.9.9-r45 AdamN version works fine on the world map. I tested with Vaan's chapter.

r51 works fine as well.

I only use PPSSPP on Windows.

I do have an earlier version of ppsspp which I keep to make progress but it's on iOS that I would like to be able to progress.

I came across an interesting thing though : not all instances of the world map crash, in fact, I completed Laguna's 2nd rift and for some reason, that one works fine so I don't know what's different about them but they work.

Edit : I was able to do the whole story mode after that second Laguna rift, weird how those are the affected ones.

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
0.9.9-r65 fixes the excessive transparency issue. I just played a bit so I'm not sure it's perfect, but it's better than before.

Now I wonder when cheats will start working again, but that's a matter for another thread.

I only use PPSSPP on Windows.

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
Having an issue with the Laguna chapter on PC.

Essentially, after the boss fight (Cloud of Darkness), the cutscene runs, and as soon as it's done PPPSP crashes. Doesn't matter if you just let it run or skip the cutscene, crashes either way, 100% of the time. I've tried messing with settings, but nothing seems to fix this.

If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears; this obviously renders the game unplayable.

What version of the emulator are you using? Is there any previous version from the buildbot that has worked before?

Got a savestate/savefile (both will be nice) you can share so that others can reproduce the issue?

A rundown of your PC specs would also be good to have for completeness.

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
Im surprised that my computer is capable of running this game well, with some slowdown here and there (Exiting Gateways and choosing to load my save game at the title screen) but it runs fine in the Gateways and when doing battles and cutscenes.

Only issue that is urking me, is that everytime I'm in something that is menu based, namely the customization screen, the emulator crashes on me and its doing it constantly.

I dunno if its because I have the emulator set to max performance because my laptop is kind of low-end, so if I am choosing menu options fast, then it will crash. Does anyone else have this issue and if so, how were you able to keep it from crashing on you a bunch?

My System Specs:-
Acer Aspire 5538 Laptop
AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core Processor 1.2GHz
4 GB RAM
1366 x 768 Monitor Resolution
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate SP1

RE: Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy
Okay really now. Its been a week and a half since I posted and yet I continue to get the same issue of the game crashing whenever I am in the customization menu, or basically anything that has a menu you in it and it is really starting to bug me.

It sucks that I have to play the game without using the customization menu and changing my equipment and such without the damn emulator crashing on me 90% of the time when accessing it.

I tried other versions of PPSSPP from the autobot, I tried the two custom versions made for the game specifically, and I still get the same problem. I really really REALLY, want to know how I can stop it from crashing, I downloaded VC 2013 runtime since I'm using 0.9.9.1, I deleted the emulator and downloaded it again, same issue.

I just want to know why it does this and if anyone else had this problem before and knows how to fix it, because more this occurs, the more it bums me out and less it makes me want to play on a PSP Emulator anyway...

Yes, it would help if you could upload it somewhere and provide a link, that way other people can try to reproduce and test what might be wrong (including me, if it's a US region save.)
