How do I transfer files to an updated version of ppsspp

As the subject suggests, I've been trying to transfer my save files from version 9.6.2 to version 9.8. I tried transferring "memstick" to the file folder of version 9.8 but when I try to play my games there are no existing save files. How do I do this?

Both version are loading saves from the same location so you can just copy the SAVEDATA folder from 9.6.2\memstick\PSP\SAVEDATA to 9.8\memstick\PSP\SAVEDATA

already tried it, didn't work... would it be any different if the location for 9.8 was in program files?

If you are on Win7\8,try moving it out of Program Files

Using Win 8, re-installed it elsewhere in my pc, copied whole memstick folder from 9.6.2 to 9.8. Thing is, when I tried to play a new game on 9.8 and saved a file, no memstick folder appeared in the file folder (note: did this before copy-pasting memstick folder from 9.6.2)

No idea if the installer version save the memstick in the ppsspp directory or in My Documents.
I only vaguely remember but do you have some text file or ini file in the ppsspp directory.

There is a feature that if you create a file with certain name and place a path inside it,ppsspp will save the memstick to the path you set.
