I had the same problem, that means the emulator won't accept savegames from actual psp. If you want to unlock stuff, you should use cheats, I believe there is a "unlock everything" cheat. Also I said it before use the old version of the emulator 0.7.6-1251 -gea5996b to avoid the chakra crash.

Save files from gamefaqs doesnt work either with eu or us version simply beat the game took me 5 hours o.o

rep for you buddy thx for pointing that the newer version can run the game properly, I was sick of running the game on older 0.7.6 version.

Tested now with the new 0.9.7 and:

1 - The game still freezes at "Need Chakra" message. Sometimes the message appear and goes off normaly without the game freezing but most of the time it freezes.

2 - There's also a minor graphical bug on the upper left corner, on the playable character portrait. As can be seen form the screenshots, the blackground around the portrait became black.

EDIT: It seems that there's some fov problem too and it looks that it's related to the black box one but I'm not sure. Here'a a screenshot:

We had to revert the Chakra hang "fix" because it broke a bunch of other games, and we didn't want to have a bunch of broken games and only one fixed for the release Hopefully we'll find a better fix soon that covers all of the affected games.
