About Phantasy Star Portable 2 - equipping units?
Does anyone know what exactly is the the good thing about equipping those things.

How exactly from 5 to 20 per equipped(defense for example)helps if you consider that your base defense is high and the armor is giving you a lot of defense points?

I'm finding those S rank stats boosting units but I don't see how they will help if they are giving such a small boost...or maybe there is something that I'm missing.

For example I have 225 base defense(LV 79 Hunter)and the armor is giving me more than 230 and I receive a lot if physical damage from some enemys,so how exactly equipping something that gives me +20 will help?

i played psp2 only for like 10 mins cause thats how far i could go on ppsspp anyway i played pso psp1 and pso2 and in all this games some you have elements or what ever its called

so in other word check if your armor have for example +100 def to but also bonus stat like +20% def against fire but have -20% def against ice

also when you see a monster when ur close to him and you targeted him you should see on upper right corner his name and left from his name you should see his element check if only monsters of that element makes you big damage

also if you are lvl 79 and you play where info says recommended lvl is 70 and monsters are from like 70~90 than its normal you get hard punches in ur face thats normal on PS series

now i think i need to start to play psp2

anyway what ever i posted above i dont have any info about psp2 its only info from other PS tittles i know

but what you can do for me is that could you upload a screenshot of your armor stats ? or even more simple would be if you could provide a save file so i could test it my self if you realy care

RE: About Phantasy Star Portable 2 - equipping units?
I'm LV 79,have A class armor, and use those extension abilities
HP Restore Rate - plus 10% of my max hp every 10 seconds
Photon Barrier - Damage amounting to less than 3% of your total HP is completely nullified.
Damage Resist - Cuts all damage received by 10%.
I play against Earth type monsters and my armor reduces 51% of the damage.

And with all that I still have to be careful when I play against LV55 monsters...what's wrong.

I can still clear solo some missions with LV 105 monsters but it takes a lot of time and careful attacking.
I don't have problems with monsters maybe 40 levels below mine(I have problems with some lv 40 monsters attacks...I can beat them easily but they still hit hard)

I play with A class 9 stars double sabre and sabre which are lightning elemental(string against earth elemental enemys)

Also when I use MySynth, she is nurse type and she gives me 20% fire and earth damage resist...so why?

even for PS series that sound strange

i have better idea

why dont you buy some other armor for ur self in shop and check than what kind of dmg you get and maybe that will tell us the truth

RE: About Phantasy Star Portable 2 - equipping units?
The shop is selling MUCH weaker armors that any of the armors I have and I always use the same elemental armor as the enemys element(not the opposite)

I had to struggle real hard getting to the boss which died MUCH easier than any of the emenys before it(it's LV 70+ mission and the enemys were at that level...the boss was lv 74)...just activate Levee Impact when you are exactly below is and the boss is almost dead

RE: About Phantasy Star Portable 2 - equipping units?
For example if I let LV55 "Vanda Orga"(earth element)hit me with his fire throwing or fire breath attacks 4 or 5 times,I'm dead and they are usually in groups and they do the same thing.

I also tried letting him to hit me but both armors and there is almost no difference in the damage I receive

Rabol Solid (A Class)
51% Earth
DEF 231
EVA 121
MND 115

Rabol Opad (S Class)
24% Fire
DEF 316
EVA 166
MND 158

RE: About Phantasy Star Portable 2 - equipping units?
Well I just cleared 120 LV mission and I'm still at LV 79.
As you can see it's not because I can't play the game but for some reason I get a lot of damage from magic attacks(physical do a lot of damage too but I rarely get hit by physical).

Looks like there is no point in playing at a lot higher lv missions to quickly level up because the EXP I get is little.

well now i have question for you

how long did you take to get where you are now in psp2 ?

and other thing i just loaded my phantasy star portable save and im lvl 63 i enter only NEW mission i have

and there is info req lvl is 55 well im 63

but also there is info that monsters will be 80+ wtf ?

when i go there everything is ok i got around 2k hp but small monsters give me like 200 dmg but when i get critical or go to bigger monsters i die in 4~6 hits lol

so i think its not only problem with ur psp2 its how PS games are made

if you want i can send you my save file but idk if you even have phantasy star portable 1 so just tell me if your interested than you can see for your self

If you just play the story,it will take a lot less time but when I play a game I like,I spend as much as possible time on things that are not related to the story.
Currently I'm right before starting chapter 7 and the playtime is ~80 hours

The areas are unlocked once you reach certain level. No one is stopping you to play against higher level enemys to get better items sooner...it's just hard.

I just cleared mission with LV 110+ enemys just to get certain weapon and the mission before with LV 120+ enemys to get another...I can't wait reaching LV 120 to be the same level.

RE: About Phantasy Star Portable 2 - equipping units?
This is normal, 4 or 5 hits is a lot, and this attacks are slow and easy to dodge. In some missions that mob with attack boost can kill you in 1 hitSmile
