Crashing on startup on Windows? Please try this and report.

[Henrik]

If you are still seeing crashes on startup of the emulator on Windows, please replace PPSSPPWindows.exe with the one in the following zip file:

http://www.ppsspp.org/startupcrash.zip

It should pop up three message boxes on startup before it crashes.

Please report in this thread what are in those boxes. You can copy their contents with Ctrl-C when they are up.

[TheDax]

Should probably edit the title to reflect that it's for Windows. You might get the hopes up of mobile users.

[Henrik]

Done.

[solarmystic]

That's fascinating stuff, it just basically spits out the OpenGL version supported, GPU vendor and GPU model in those three boxes, before normally showing the NewUI interface, at least on my system.

A preboot GPU diagnostic so to speak.

[Henrik]

hah, no, it's not very fascinating Might be useful though.

[arg274]

is this the long awaited DX build?

[Ritori]

i try with intel that not support OpenGL 2.0 (only OpenGL 1.9 i think)

Thank you, that's good information. I will detect that and display a message and quit instead of crashing.

[Henrik]

I've added a check now that will show a message and exit on pre-2.0 opengl implementations.

If you still get crashes in the latest git builds, I'll be really interested in the information from the test build linked above.

here show on latest version
---------------------------
OpenGL driver error
---------------------------
Insufficient OpenGL driver support detected!

Your GPU reports that it does not support OpenGL 2.0, which is currently required for PPSSPP to run.

Please check that your GPU is compatible with OpenGL 2.0. If it is, you need to find and install new graphics drivers from your GPU vendor's website.

OK

Edit:
It not crash anymore just display that press okay exit.

[Henrik]

Good

[aki21]

[Henrik]

ok good. you will have to find some better drivers or wait for the D3D backend...

waiting is not bad

[aki21]
