lower native resolution [speed boost]
I have been trying to optimize the speed of emulators on my tablet recently and I stumbled across a couple of applications that help dramatically.

1)Xposed Framework(needed for the next app)

The Xposed framework is a powerful framework in that mods like call recording, etc. persists even if you update your ROM. Also Lets you install modules that are used to change app settings.

2)App Settings

Allows you to change the DPi and resolution of Android apps. It also allows you to to lock apps in memory(fixes minor frame rate drops on my tablet)

How to Install?
Make a nandroid backup. Works only on a rooted ROM.
Download the XposedInstaller apk and install it. Launch it and grant it root pernissions. Then press Install/Update button. Then reboot.
Download the AppSetting apk and install it.
Launch the Xposed Framework App then in the module tab, enable the AppSettings Module. Then reboot.
Launch the AppSettings app and there you can now set per app density/resolution for all apps listed.

Warning: This is a powerful framework, and if you are not careful about the settings you use, you might mess up your apps or system UI. I will not be held responsible

What to change

The two settings you would change in "app settings" are:

Screen(dp)- This is the resolution passed to the app as your resolution
(higher VPS)

Resident-- This locks the application in memory (less frame drops)

----------------------------------------------------------------------
MY Results with 0 frameskip, upscale off,vertex cache on---

God eater Burst

Before= 24-30/30(75%-100%)fps in lobby, 18-28/30(62%-100%)fps in field

After= 30/30(100%)fps SOLID in lobby:38fps with alternate speed to 125%, 30fps solid in field 32-38fps with alternate

Soul Calibur:BD

Before= 28-32fps in battle

After=45-47fps

God of WAR :CoO

Before= 9-12fps in game

After =17-22fps in game

On another note this has also cause increased performance in other emulators as well. Namely Yabause

RE: Performance boost on android!
Nice, but how about VPS?? its still 100%?? because most ppsspp users struggle with VPS, 20 fps its more than enough ( preferable 30 fps)
there is any VPS slow down??

RE: Performance boost on android!
I was using 0 frame skip the VPS (So i thought) is just the actual fps/framerate game is supposed to run at.

I.E.
my fps setting is both and reads 24/30(75%) in God eater before applying this and 30/30(100%)normal , 38/30(125%) alternate after.

RE: Performance boost on android!
I think settings is varies depending on games and devices. Experiment it yourself. I had tested lowest resolution(dpi=160), nothing changes for GoW:CoO and God Eater. Same speed so far.
