Building PPSSPP requires only Visual Express C++ 2010 which is available for free on Microsoft's site. Find the link of Visual Express C++ 2010 from the following: http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en...10-express You'll get vc_web.exe which is actually installer of that program. |

There is this software renderer that is in progress by neobrain, which might solve the problem when it is finished. It is still a work in progress, and highly experimental though:- https://github.com/neobrain/ppsspp/tree/softgpu PPSSPP Modern Testbed:- Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz 16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:- Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz 8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 |

Sofware renderer will be too slow! Any hopes for directx9 renderer? That'll be perfect choice for ATI/AMD users.

By the way, if the DX9 renderer is fully compliant to DX9.0c, you won't be able to use it either, since the X800 only supports up to DX9.0b. (Just like how the X800XL I have on my older P4 rig can't even use the DX9 renderer in Dolphin since it uses the full DX9.0c feature set) So, the software renderer might still be the only way to play FFIV for you. Bumped for yet another change to the generic performance guide to reflect the current graphical options vis a vis Rendering Mode.

DX9.0c is only required for those games which needs pixel shader 3.0 which must be supported by GPU to play those games. Dolphin needs GPU which must support at least pixel shader 3.0 that's the reason it requires directx9.0c (Dolphin is emulator for console of different generation because of emulation of Wii) PPSSPP only requires shader 2.0, so it should run in directx9 just like it can run in OpenGL 2.0 |

You've got a point. At the end of the day, it all depends on what the devs set for parameters of the DX9 plugin. I still can't believe that most of the newer normal games that still run on XP can't run on the X800XL just because it's missing 9.0c support. RE: A comprehensive list of games that are only problematic on AMD/ATI graphics cards
Ain't there some bitmasking being used on the PSP? Bitwise operators on shaders require PS 4.0 (Dx10) or GLSL 1.3 (OGL 3) if I remember correctly.
So proper emulation on that with the gpu would increase the minimum requirement quite a few years. ズキューーン |
