Just thought I would share my findings. Turning off Buffered rendering before launching either game will stop the intros from loading slow. If you get sound popping and lag on the menu for both games turning on frame skipping will speed it up to 60 (In games frame skipping causes screen flicker).

Have you heard the news? Limiting CPU Speed to 60-80(new feature) actually makes it pretty much playable on Android!
Tested on my RK3066 tablet.
Sorry if I missed somebody's actually having posted it.
It wasn't me who found this solution, but this CPU thingie works wonders!

How do you do that? When I tick the 'lock CPU speed' option under System Settings, it locks at 222. I can't change that value.

4.longtap it, press open with-text editor;
5.in the [CPU] section find CPUSpeed = 222, change to CPUSpeed = 80; (instead of 80, you can enter any number here, tested on 60-80 range)
6.save;
7.open ppsspp - check the setttings - disable frame limiter, if enabled.

Wow, this is pretty impressive. I'm constantly getting over 40fps with buffered rendering off for Ghost of Sparta on my GS3. Thanks!

Thanks a ton for that info. Now my ghost of sparta is running 60 fps in places it wasn't before and is a lot smoother than it has been.
Note: I'm running this on windows x64 and this step works wonders for speed issues

Whenever I have buffered rendering turned off, there is this dark 'glass' on top of everything, making it almost too dark to play. If I turn buffered rendering on, everything becomes bright again, but unfortunately, it lowers the fps of the game on my phone.
However, in the older builds, the dark glass effect wasn't there. Is there some way to remove it?

Hi!
May I know which version are you running? Because on 0.8.1 I can't find such an option.
Thanks in advance

In game. When there are no enemies, it's above 40 and during combat it is above 30. It hardly ever falls below 30. However, I'm currently in the first 'level' so perhaps other parts are more graphics intensive and thus may be slower.
