I suspect some real pefermance bots will come with the upcoming snapdragon 800. Its GPU core is a beast.

When you say mobile CPU/GPU are you talking about a cellphone/handheld or a laptop?

In modern days, Mobile refers to cellphones, usually. Most modern day laptops can just be treated as desktops for development purposes, AFAIK.

Eh, I'm not sure I agree, because laptops are indeed portable (more or less anyway thanks to high power consumption). Anyway I won't argue with you, but I was just double checking to see what the OP meant.

The name itself my be a misnomer when looking at it from that perspective, but the differentiation is due to the difference in architecture, thus the need to consider it as a separate field than others in terms of development. It just so happens that the architecture is primarily found in phones (At least, as far as I know), which is, I imagine, the reason it got the moniker "Mobile."

*shrug*

I'm no expert on the matter. I'll take your word for it Tongue.

I just read "Mobile" the first thing that came to mind was laptops which are mobile, but that also applies to phones too. At this point its just semantics XD.

Forget Snapdragon 800...
Intel Core i5-4200U (it's the new mobile processor for Tablets/Smartphones from Intel) is 2.5 times better (tested/proven, not a theory by Intel) than Snapdragon 800 at the same price range.
Let the ARM-Intel war start...

The benchmarks/tests report a bit over double performance than Adreno 300 with triple resolution and they are OGL 4 compatible.
I wouldn't report it if it wasn't really worth noticing.
