RE: Gran Turismo
Cant belive playing this Smile, my PC has been waiting for another GT since the PSX GT1 and 2 (PS2 versions harldy run at good speeds if run at all).

Been playing even with the font issues as can get round that. As the comment above says, only issues i have had is the random shaking and some random major slow downs in game while racing (This happens most of the time then speeds up to full speed again in places) nothing in the log to show anything is effecting the game in anyway (Strange).

Keep up the good work team Smile Many thanks Smile

PS, Nothing wrong with the games auto save here, saves and loads fine everytime.

Talking about that bug, what the hell is that bug anyway? I've noticed it on Tekken DR too, it's like the screen is on a virbrator, kinda annoying. (BTW nothing fixes it)
Any comment on what could it be?

Certain games emulated in PCSX2 have that issue too. Requires the application of the deinterlacing filter to get rid of it. Both Tekken DR and Tekken 6 exhibit the screen shake.

Interlacing issues no doubt, but it shouldn't ever be a problem with PSP emulation as are always dealing with progressive output on the PSP.

EDIT:- Donel has the right idea:-

RE: Gran Turismo
Yes, I also think it is very strange to see an issue like that on a PSP game.

I found out that only the rendered 3D parts suffer from this issue. For example, when you're buying a car, the car model shakes, but the rest of the screen doesn't.

Nope, doesn't seem to affect it at all.

Bugger. Must be texture cache then...

Yep. It has a mearure that you can load savegames only with specific nicknames, my PSP has the same name as in my ini but still it could be something related to that.

Hmm, and it doesn't help toggling the "encrypt save" option right?

What part should I load to post it here? Like, just the menu, which is the part just after the freeze if you have a savegame.

Yeah just until the same point really, I want to see what it's trying to do and failing at.

No idea on the random shaking, but it could be a vfpu bug I guess, depending on how it looks...

RE: Gran Turismo
Uknown, I just found out that using a real PSP savegame does work even if you save again over it (sorry for the wrong report, possibly something went wrong from cipying the save file), and I didn't cahne anything in save encryption so I guess it's not because of that.

RE: Gran Turismo
I'm happy we can now play this game.
For the 'shaking' part, I think it's the way to emulate (or more fittingly, making illusion of) antialiasing/smoothing on the edges, a common technique in games that runs at 60 fps; in PSP the shaking is unnoticeable, but you could notice a small flickering if you stare at the screen closely. It becomes heavily noticeable in PC because it can't really keep the speed, correct me if I'm wrong.
The 'shaking' also happens when PSP connected to RemoteJoyLite, so I think it's not the fault of PPSSPP.

RE: Gran Turismo
That's very interesting (about RemoteJoyLite), thanks for pointing that out.

Is it less noticeable at 1x resolution or with texture scaling on/off?

RE: Gran Turismo
You are welcome Big Grin
In my system the shaking is still present (albeit yes, less noticeable) in 1x resolution, and texture scaling does not seem to affect this.

That form of AA is called Temporal AA is it not? Or is it the "Flicker Filter" option available in certain games?

RE: Gran Turismo
For me, it is as noticeable in 1x Resolution as it is in higher resolutions. It appears to be less noticeable in 1x because the image is smaller, so comparing with a 4x resolution, what would be a moviment of 1 pixel transforms into a movment of 4 pixels. The movement is still proportionally the same. What this means is, if you take an object in the game itself as reference, the shaking is still the same regardless of the resolution.

Yes you're right, from what I see it's the temporal AA in GT's case, most likely.

Very interesting indeed.

The opening movie has started to play on the latest builds.

The sound is perfect, but the video has this glitch, where the screen is duplicated horizontally.
