Works flawlessly on my SGS3 (with latest reversion from today)with audio and no graphic glitches and full speed Smile

One more thing for people that keep crying about some issues . Do you actually know that developers don't have any incomes from working on that emulator? They do it for free and they don't have to suspend whole free time just to make someone happy to play games on computer or phone instead of buying console. So people please... they do everything they can to improve that application so don't expect miracles and respect that they do all that for free .

O hai! Testing everything Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE Android 4.3

O bai! Did you witness my power?

Not saying I don't believe you, but you better post at least some screenshots and a video to back that claim up. The flickering issue is a documented one, and as I've shown in the video I posted above, it is a severe one on Windows.

I believe the full speed and good audio bit.

If it is problematic on Windows, what are the odds the Android build isn't?

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz

Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-

ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz

Oh ,we know. That is the reason why we are testing to further help in the development.

Ehm.. Sry but people like me bought it from play store for money so stop tripping, thanks. And we just give tips what games are important for the crow and what are not. If admins ignore that, i ignore them too.

Thanks for the quick update.

The hanging bit is a new one.

Which platform, Windows or Android?

RE: Mortal Kombat - Unchained
Tested with 0.7.6-593-windows with rig in sig.

I can confirm what NGboo mentioned above.

The game now hangs after a short while at the main menu. The game used to be playable (albeit with the known flickering problems and broken shadows).

Media Engine has already been disabled (otherwise the game wouldn't be able to go past the title screen in the first place).

Here's the logfile for 0.7.6.-593 until the game hangs. (a massive 15MB logfile compressed with 7zip):-

http://www.mediafire.com/?txh4tzadxh4fac1

There seems to be a new error besides the usual one, spammed over and over again in the logfile:-

Code:
49:02:166 snd_stream_s E[HLE]: HLE\sceAtrac.cpp:495 avcodec_decode_audio4: Error decoding audio -1094995529

Audio decoding which worked fine in previous builds for this game, is now broken, leading to the crash.

Mods, if you can verify this issue, please move the game to from playable to ingame or to intro/menus since it reliably hangs at the main menu after short while. The game is NOT PLAYABLE at all as of the latest git revision. Thanks in advance.

UPDATE:-

Tracing the issue back throughout the past git revisions has yielded the following results:-

(All tests done with Media Engine disabled)

0.7.6-556 - The game worked normally, exhibiting the usual known flickering and broken shadows issue but was still playable.

0.7.6-567 - The game worked normally as per 0.7.6-556, and music loops properly.

0.7.6-570 - The game works normally. This is the LAST git revision to have no audio issues. (besides the usual visual ones)

0.7.6-571 - The game doesn't crash but now, the music has started not to loop properly.

0.7.6-576 - The game doesn't crash but the music is not looping properly now.

0.7.6-586 - Similar to 0.7.6-576, the game doesn't crash but music is not looping properly.

0.7.6-587 - This is where the game started to crash after a short while in the main menu.

0.7.6-589 - Same as 0.7.6-593

0.7.6-593 - Game is broken and now hangs after a short while at the main menu

During the process of tracing the hanging issue in past git revisions, I discovered another issue that MK has which wasn't apparent in older builds; the music is now not looping properly.

So, to summarize, we now have 2 new issues here for Mortal Kombat that can be traced back to two revisions, one starting earlier than the other:-

1. Game now hangs after a short while at the title screen (issue started from 0.7.6-587):-

After much testing, I've a very strong suspicion that oioitff's commit done in v0.7.6-587-g1a2bcb7 is reponsible for the hanging behaviour as this particular problem occurs right after 0.7.6-586 in revision 0.7.6-587.

TL; DR 0.7.6-586 is the last revision where the game is playable without hanging, but with the music not looping properly.

2. Game's music is not looping properly (issue started from 0.7.6-571)

This issue started on a revision much earlier that 0.7.6-586. After some testing I have traced the origin of this issue to raven02's commit in v0.7.6-571-g61c7779. The problem only started showing itself in all revisions after that particular commit.

It seems like while the commit fixed the issue of music looping in Three Kingdoms VIII, it broke the music looping in Mortal Kombat.

In conclusion, Git revision 0.7.6-570 is the last revision where the game exhibits no audio issues at all and doesn't crash. (besides having the usual visual problems)

Thanks for reading this long winded issue report.

Added videos displaying the two aforementioned issues on youtube:-

1. Hang after a short while at the main menu (0.7.6-587):-

2. Improper music looping behaviour (0.7.6-571):-

Compare and contrast with a git revision that does not have the above issues (0.7.6-570):-

Incorrect looping music and the hang after awhile issue has been fixed with git revision v0.7.6-624-g3706045.

Mods can move this back to playable now.

Credit to oioitff for fixing both issues with his commit in v0.7.6-619-g41860c5 and Henrik for merging it into master in v0.7.6-624-g3706045:-

It's a long standing known issue. No fix for it yet, you'll have to wait in line, as there are other more pressing issues for the emulator that the devs are dealing with.

Have patience.
