A question on one of the settings.
Anisotropic Filtering under Texture Filtering header. Which setting is the most accurate to the hardware, Auto or Off?

RE: PPSSPP options explained
Hi all, I'm new to these boards. Basically I'm running PPSSPP on an Nvidia Shield Android TV, and I wanted to make sure I have all of my settings correct for the best graphical appearance. I went here to see what all of the options do, but I notice this list is missing a ton of them. I also looked at the "Guide:- Maximizing the performance of PPSSPP on your Android/Windows device" thread, but it's geared towards FPS and not best appearance. Am I missing something or is there somewhere that can give me the information I am looking for?

Am I missing something or is there somewhere that can give me the information I am looking for? In general, for the NVIDIA SHIELD TV, I recommend: Graphics * Reset everything to defaults. * Set render resolution to anything you like, e.g. 4x. * Change Vertex Cache to off. * Ensure Lazy Texture Caching is off. * Ensure Spline/Bezier curves quality is High. * If you prefer, set Upscale level to 2x. Recommend Hybrid + deposterize. * Set Anistropic filtering to 16x or 8x. System * Enable compatibility server reports if you're okay with it. * Turn "Fast memory" on. * Leave "Multithreaded" off. That's about it. The other settings are good at their defaults, changing them will in most cases only decrease quality. In a few cases there are compatibility hacks or experimental features like networking. -[Unknown] |

What does Ignore illegal reads/writes / doesn't exist on SDL version do? Don't think of having it a debug feature. I want a well explanation for this. What it does and why is it used?

What does "force real clock sync" mean? and what does it do?
Does it refer to a real clock (time) or the CPU clock? |

RE: PPSSPP options explained
Hello everyone!
First Post I'm using a xiaomi black shark 1 (snapdragon 845, 1080 x 2160 native res) PPSSPP 1.94 stable I have rendering resolution at 2x (default). 1x just looks bad...but my question is - which is fundamentally better, display resolution at 2x or native device resolution? Both have samey quality output but I am trying to figure out which one is more power efficient/better/faster. TIA |
