PC Powered Controller on Android
Hello

So, I've been tinkering with a way to use a controller plugged into a PC on an Android version of PPSSPP (with the device also connected to the PC) but I haven't been too successful. Best I got was to use an app like RemoteKeyboard combined with Xpadder, which does work for PPSSPP itself, but ingame, some inputs don't work (it seems to recognize only directional pads).

So, I wanted to ask, did anybody try something similar that gave results?

I’m not sure if I understood what you wanna do! But have you tried Kainy? You stream what you are playing in your pc to your android.

I was an Xperia Play gamer until my dog ate my beloved phone!

Now I’m an Xperia ZL/ZQ gamer!
Quad-Core 1.5 GHZ
2GB RAM

It works better, but i miss the gamepad!! T_T'

That's the opposite of what I want in a sense.

Basically, I am try to use my (laptop) keyboard for controlls in PPSSPP. Partially, found a way that works, but only for PPSSPP's config, ingame, it doesn't recognize the keys.

RE: PC Powered Controller on Android
Well, guess I'll BUMP for the first and last time, just for information values.

Anyway, I used an application, installed both on the PC and android device, that sends keystrokes from the PC's keyboard to the device via USB cable. This can be used in example to write inside documents.

In case of PPSSPP, each of those keys have a certain value (in example, key.UP is the up arrow), and so, you can map the controlls to match those key codes.

This works when you map them, but when you start a game, PPSSPP's mapping doesn't seem to work anymore (or maybe, to be precise, it doesn't recognize the mapping keys anymore), which could mean that the PPSSPP blocks apps running in the background or it gets the mapping messed up in some way (seems to be the latter, since some apps, like MyMobiler, partially work).

And to mention where this could be useful (if it worked):
* You do not have OTG support
* You do not have mini/micro USB adapters
* Your device does not support your gamepad/keyboard
* Charging your device while using peripherals at the same time

I will try to tinker with it a little bit more to see if it can be done in one way or another, but if not, it is what is. Guess I might take a look at the PPSSPP documentation to see how the mapping works.

i have no idea what you are trying to do and for what reason

but if xpadder dont work MAYBE AntiMicro will

at last is worth a try

Try AntiMicro graphical program used to map keyboard keys and mouse controls to a gamepad/controller.

Long story short, I want to use something other then the on-screen controlls androind PPSSPP offers, but, I don't have OTG support and I don't have means to connect anything to my device directy.

SO

I wanted to use my PSX controller to play PPSSPP which is on my Android device (because my PC is too old to use PPSSPP), but, since I have no ways to plug it into my device, I have to plug into my PC and then "stream" the inputs to the Android device.

Sadly, I don't think AntiMicro will work since keyboard keys don't work either way, so it's not a gamepad thing, but, thanks for the link, it seems like a nice Xpadder alternative. I will try it out anyway however, maybe it will work.

I thought I did lol, my bad if my choice of words wasn't the best.

I did try AirDroid before but was too much of a hassle to setup lol, but the other two seem promising, I'll try them out. Thanks (I was googling along the lines of "use pc keyboard on android", so guess it wasn't the right question)

Will report in a few minutes

Sigh... root access...

Well, I'll have to find a friend with that to test things out.

Screencast is also one option I stumbled upon, and Mobizen the other but man, that thing tried to synchronize my entire pc, nope.

Guess I have no choice but to try AirDroid again, hopefully, it doesn't try to pull a stunt like Mobizen.

EDIT: managed to get AirDroid to work, but sadly, it only server to manage your device, not actually control it (as in, it's basically a windows explorer)
