MFi controller support (Made For iphone/ipad/ipod touch) is a feature built into iOS7. Been out for 1/2 months.. Logitech and many others like MOGA are releasing controllers for iOS platform. Apps/games are updating there API's to support external gamepads. But prices are way to high, I still prefer blutrol and use my PS3 pad.
