Tried it on the 711 build and noticed some peculiarity:

It was a bit off before- when you chose a male character in the beginning he was covered with a blue contour instead of a picture and now it's working just fine.

Not sure about that, gameplay is the same as the above screenshots for me. All the 2D scenes are pretty much perfect, and the battles remain mostly black, although you see spell effects and some interface. This was tested on android though, if that makes a difference.
