Some games might require VC or HT off, or BR on, so make sure to play around with the settings.

Frameskipping can help, just make sure it's at an uneven number (1,3,5 etc) as the even numbers will usually cause flickering.

Make sure that Anti Aliasing and any form of Texture Scaling is off.
