playing on ppsspp with a gamepad

I know the gamepads aren't fully available yet on this emulator yet but i read that the controls could be mapped normally. But the problem is that i tried that and it didn't work, currently i am using windows to try the gamepad (i just installed it) and trying with Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core (weird that i read posts that say that playing this game isn't available yet, and i am playing it normally without bugs at all and even on android, tough playing on a cellphone is laggy)

the gamepad i am using is this one:

cheap one lol, bought on local store out of desperation

problem is that i tried doing the mapping and it didn't work in the end please help (if you could give me a tutorial i would be happy as hell c
