Look at the red circles and pointers I put on the images below. You will understand after you experience those ugly shadows that burns in everyone's eyes!!!

I was also trying to figure out what was causing this and decided to check the game on my PSP (umd), turns out those ghosts are actually in game as well.
Is there any way to get this game to run with all the DLC? It recognises the skins and plays the BGMs but when I start a battle with any DLC skin it crashes.... =(
