Ah, okay. I played a bit more and am now up to the first dungeon where you can freely battle. I have since turned on frameskipping and set it to 1 (on auto) to help maintain my good speed. Everything is still doing well.

Multithreading is for sure the main thing thing that helped with the sound crackle for me though. How many cores does your laptop have? Because multithreading gives its big speed boost by making ppsspp use more than one core.

The dark issue is basically related to the 2x alpha blending mode that we are not correctly supported well enough at this moment .We do have a fix here https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/pull/5844 but it may break other stuff and we are still checking it out to make a proper fix .

5. Go to Settings---->Graphics---->Hacks and click Disable Alpha Test and Texture Coord Speedhack.

6. Go to Settings---->System---->Developer tools and uncheck enable debug logging

Doing this lets me run the game without the lighting issues, sound issues and with consistently good speed. If, despite doing all of this, you still have slowdown (sound or otherwise), then turn Frameskipping on and set it to 1 (or even higher, if necessary) under Settings----->Graphics--->Framerate control. I was able to get consistent 96-100% speed without resorting to this though, so leave this as a last resort.

Bonus: To make the game look prettier go on Settings---->Graphics---->Texture Scaling and click Upscale level to auto. I like the way this makes my game look, but if doing this makes you lose speed or fps, turn it back off. So only do it if you can, basically.

I played up to the first voiced-over bit of the game (20 mins in?) to make sure the voices work properly (they do) and everything is great thus far.

Works flawlessly but still crackles a lot!

PSP save data issue is fixed! With that, when bringing up the menu or entering a building, the game lags big time with crackilng audio. I've reset the emulator settings to default. Not sure what to adjust next though.

Same issue. The recent updates have cleared up a lot of issues, but once you go inside of a building, it's lag city. I'm still playing around with the settings to see what works.

I've tried every combination of options I could think of. This game will continue to be broken on the Android version without more updates. It's been getting better, but it's just not there yet.

Much better performance now on Android. Still some framerate issues and lag in dungeons and indoor settings, but the game is far more playable for the most part. Played around with some of the settings in an attempt to optimize the experience, still trying to find the best combination.

i did alttile experiment with the codes all i can say is theres something wrong you need to replace the numeral values with a number that works so far i found that replacing the 0 in each of the first line lets the game work however the code doesnt do anything at all so im not sure what to tell you just yet theres a number or value in there that freezes the game and conflicts is all i can tell u hope fully some one with better knowledge with codes will answer this sorry man i tried lols ethier the codes no good or like i said some of the code needs to be replaced in order to work
