Oh well, we'll just have to wait until mid April to late May or so for the next update.

You can also download the latest development builds and see if anything's changed http://buildbot.orphis.net/ppsspp/

Any good news with this? I won't be able to test it for a while yet.

RE: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 - Innocent Sin
If you transfer a save from the PSP, you get the save itself and the settings. PPSSPP will try to load the settings when done this way for some games. Back up your save first (in case you delete the wrong one) and then delete the settings.

If there's another method of "transfer" other than dragging save files from the folder on a Pro Duo card into its respective PPSSPP folder, I'd like to hear it.

If the save doesn't work it usually means you had a save in there (so get rid of all of those) or you have the wrong region version of the game so fix that.Shy

That doesn't make sense to me. The save has a save, you mean it's the system profile? I've tried loading all of my save files and they all take me back to the menu screen. It has to be the emulator. Those files load just fine on my actual PSP.

Yeah, I've tried loading saves from my Vita and none of them work.

No fix in this update either, perhaps when v1.0 ships?

Just wanted to state that the latest Automated Build has graphical shadow issues that weren't present in the 9.8 Stable Build. I don't know if this is related to the recent lighting fix applied for Shining Ark, but it would be worth checking out...

RE: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 - Innocent Sin
With some toying around in settings, the game is running very well for me. Granted, I play on a laptop so your results may vary if you're playing on your phone.

This is what I did:

1. Firstly, use v0.9.8-172. This is the only version that completely fixes the brightness issue. The brightness is perfect in this revision (not dark, no weird shadows on the ground, nothing). The commit in v0.9.8-172 was reverted in v0.9.8-173. So if you want the lighting to be fixed you MUST use the v0.9.8-172 build to play Persona 2.

Now, leave the default things that are checked and unchecked alone except for the following:

2. To fix the sound crackle and sound lag click Multithreaded under Settings----->System--->Emulation.

3. Turning Multithreaded on makes my screen occasionally flicker. To fix this, I switched to non-buffered rendering and the flicker was fixed.

4. I continued to experience the sound crackle and some slowdown when entering crowded classrooms. To remedy this go to Settings---->Graphics--->Performance and click Lazy Texture Caching, Retain Changed Textures and Low Quality Splines and Bezier Curves.

5. Go to Settings---->Graphics---->Hacks and click Disable Alpha Test and Texture Coord Speedhack.

6. Go to Settings---->System---->Developer tools and uncheck enable debug logging

Doing this lets me run the game without the lighting issues, sound issues and with consistently good speed. If, despite doing all of this, you still have slowdown (sound or otherwise), then turn Frameskipping on and set it to 1 (or even higher, if necessary) under Settings----->Graphics--->Framerate control. I was able to get consistent 96-100% speed without resorting to this though, so leave this as a last resort.

Bonus: To make the game look prettier go on Settings---->Graphics---->Texture Scaling and click Upscale level to auto. I like the way this makes my game look, but if doing this makes you lose speed or fps, turn it back off. So only do it if you can, basically.

I played up to the first voiced-over bit of the game (20 mins in?) to make sure the voices work properly (they do) and everything is great thus far.

Persona 2
Running latest free PPSSPP version on Android OS, however Persona 2 won't boot. (Just a black screen with controls). I've tried everything suggested in other threads & forums, different settings, etc. (The only save files i have is for Persona 3, which runs perfectly except for Tartarus. Could it's save files have something to do with it?)

Not even SMT Devil Survivor (Jap PSP version) loads, P3 is the only game that's currently playingSad
Please help?? I'll provide any additional info needed!

What exactly isn't working for you? For example, is it the sound crackle?
And what are you playing on?

Here's a vid of my settings

Also be sure not to have anything running at the same time as ppsspp. Even switching over to an internet window for a second makes the sound crackle/lag return for me and I'm on a computer! Make sure you don't have any other apps running. Also note that the start-up menu and the "The events depicted in this....." message you get when first clicking a new game flicker (at least for me). Don't worry, because after that I didn't notice any flickers in the actual game as long as you're in non-buffered.
