RE: Metal Gear Acid 2
The game is very very slow to play and you have to disable JT for the text to appear. Change it to non playable......

RE: Metal Gear Acid 2
Speed wise it runs fine for me, but if you have the movies enabled then a horrible black overlay gets stuck on the screen for the rest of the battle, and there's many times where you can't see snake at all since the ceiling is blocking the camera no matter which angle you move it.
Looks like this, but is different depending on what card you play. (Text is also fine except for when snake says "..." then it's invisible) |

RE: Metal Gear Acid 2
As of v0.8.1-648-g88685b0 the levels are either partly in blackness or completely black, the completely black ones are pretty much unplayable.

RE: Metal Gear Acid 2
Anytime I stretch Metal Gear Ac!d 2 beyond 1x rendering resolution the characters go and the map go black but you can still see the cards and the menu. It runs perfectly besides that, also I'm playing on Windows. Please any help would be appreciated. Have a nice day.

RE: Metal Gear Acid 2
hi there. first post in those forums so I hope I'm doing this right. it concerns ios port and metal gear acid 2 compatibility. it seems to only affect iphones version as I don't see this on PC it plays really just fine without glitches.
a pic to show you the issue; PPSSPP version is the latest as of today, v0.9.7.2-20-g8da651b. OS is ios 7.0.4 on an iphone 5. game is ULES00284 europe version, but it's the same problem with US version. whatever I do in the settings, it is either this, or a black screen with normal UI. I'm not sure if it helps, but I'd be so happy to see it resolved, as its IMO one of the best games on PSP. I'd also like to add that on ONE occasion, this strange brick overlay disappeared, and it was on a v0.8.xxxx version. can't remember wich it was, and it was not really perfect, but still much more visually playable than now. and last but not least, thank you all for this wonderful emulator, and sorry for my english ! |

RE: Metal Gear Acid 2
HTC One
Stock 4.4.2 KitKat Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 / Adreno 320 Using build 0.9.7.2-213-ge7299d5 Only thing that is of major concern is Performance. The Front Menu and Intermission screens run perfect and smooth. Hell even the tutorial levels run great, with very small slowdown if there is some action on screen. Once you reach the Harbor Level, performance drops to 20-22 fps. Has something to do with the GPU methinks. In certain levels, FPS is horrible, frameskipping is the only way to make it playable AFAIK. This game has got to be looked at :/ |

RE: Metal Gear Acid 2
Yeah, PPSSPP is definitely not handling the Adreno GPU correctly. On levels like the tutorial or the Residental Level when you're trying to find the sewer, FPS and speed is actually great. I've also noticed that the Card HUD is a bit intensive. There's a noticeable ~5 FPS drop when the cards are up.
I know this game has the potential to run better. |

@SRRDZ
Have you read this thread? The Snapdragon CPU chipset is not playing well with PPSSPP at the moment, generally speaking. PPSSPP Modern Testbed:- Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz 16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:- Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz 8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz Windows 7 x64 SP1 |

RE: Metal Gear Acid 2
hi there. I come back here to say thanks ! you actually did it, intentionnaly or not, that ugly overlay is gone (reminder, I'm on iphone 5, ios 7.0.4, PPSSPP v0.9.8-410-g03605f3)
now there's another problem; when at the mission selection screen, when one select next mission (for me, first one after the tutorial actually), the game.... freezes. but nonetheless, seriously, great job guys, anyone, everyone. |

RE: Metal Gear Acid 2
Hi.
This game is crashing at the start of a level. I went to start a new game and just after "MISSION START" appears, it crashes with the error "Wait for EmuThread timed out." EDIT: It turns out when it crashed this way the process was actually still running in the background. Using version 0.9.8 on windows 7 64x |

RE: Metal Gear Acid 2
hi !
just wanted to confirm that it's now working fine past the level selection screen. so I'd say the game now works flawlessly, I hope there's no freezes anymore, I'll play a bit and report back if there's something. but so far it's ok. PPSSPP v0.9.8-890-g1445d5a iphone 5, ios 7.0.4 thanks ! |

RE: Metal Gear Acid 2
I overlooked my previous experience with latest build so here goes my feedback. I've been slighly wrong; it works past mission selection screen only if a game is not charged from a savestate (note that it still hangs for a second. I can see that by turning the virtual joystick and see it freeze just for a moment). speaking of savestates, making one can crash ppsspp right in the middle of it, rendering them corrupted (obvious). no setting fiddling can resolve these issues. aside from that, everything is somewhat smooth...

RE: Metal Gear Acid 2
Running PPSSPP v0.9.8 x64 on PC.
Coming from an actual PSP, the PC version loads faster and generally looks better too (suprisingly) for this game. Aside from the card videos that shake oddly (but play in completion), gameplay is virtually 100%. 5 stars. |
