New CPU core: IR Interpreter - faster than interpreter, slower than JIT
It's in developer settings in the latest builds, try it out.
Should help speed a bit on iOS devices that can't JIT (9.0+ 64-bit). |

RE: New CPU core: IR Interpreter - faster than interpreter, slower than JIT
I made an account today just to post here. I had an iPhone 4s that I used to play Disgaea, Persona 3 and not much else because nothing else would run well. That phone died so I replaced it with a 6s on 9.1 in January which I jailbroke when the new pangu tool came out, but was saddened by the poor performance since I hadn't heard about the issues with JIT before that.
I just saw this topic, downloaded the latest Dev-Working build from the repo, enabled IR interpreter and tried out some games I used to play on my 4s. While not perfect, they run way better than they ever did on my 4s. Samurai Warriors State of War runs at 30fps with only slight frame dips and Persona 3 Portable runs near fullspeed in dungeon and fullspeed in battles. I can finally finished P3P! Whatever you did to implement this new interpreter core, it works! |
