I have a 3g on 4.2.1, and I cannot get the application to open from the avenger or angelxwind. It crashes on start up. Is it because the 3g specs are too low or the low firmware? Or is it something else? I have it working on my android tablet and it is amazing.

update to the latest IOS compatible with that ipod.

3rd gen and 4th gen both have the same PowerVR SGX535 GPU, which is known to have issues under Android (Due to drivers)

the 600 MHz ARM Cortex-A8 core won't help matters either.

3rd gen ipod touch has raw 800 Mhz not 600 Mhz and processor-wise is faster than ipod 4 due to underclocked processor and 3gs (underclocked to 600)

Apple restricted it for power and heat concerns.

not for ipod touch 3g...thats the beauty of it.....it runs on raw 800. the underclock is for ipod touch 4 and 3gs only coz of battery issues

tabegoro...when u say 3g u mean ipod touch 3g (32gb and 64gb) right??? Coz they have enough power . Nt the 8gb one there is no 8gb 3g version. (its actually a late release 2g)

It isa 32gb 3g, and I got ppsspp running thanks to yo guys. Now I just need to get atrac3 working because I cannot click and install it yet but it is there.
