Hi there, new guy here. My friend recommended me an apps called PPSSPP v.0.9.1 he played on his Mini 2 and some how I found it interesting so I might as well check it out. I've downloaded 2 games 2 days ago which is Project Diva Extend and Megaman Maverick Hunter X . I tried to run both games using default settings and found that it lags so badly and have broken audios when in game but it went smoothly at the title menu . One more thing, whenever I'm idle from Project Diva Extend at the title screen, there's should be like a short opening movie right? But somehow no audio or voice could be heard at the opening movie...most people said that if you enable Attrac3+ you'll heard some voice or BGM but not for me. Thanks for reading and I hope you can help solve my problem. Oh almost forgot heres the specs of my device

Device: Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos (GT-i9082) running on official JB Malaysia firmware.
CPU: ARMv7 Processor rev 0 (v7I)
RAM: 823112kB
GPU: I dont know how to check my GPU info
Android: JB 4.2.2

If you are still seeing crashes on startup of the emulator on Windows, please replace PPSSPPWindows.exe with the one in the following zip file:

http://www.ppsspp.org/startupcrash.zip

It should pop up three message boxes on startup before it crashes.

Please report in this thread what are in those boxes. You can copy their contents with Ctrl-C when they are up.

See here. In more recent git builds, it's now $XDG_CONFIG_HOME, or ~/.config/ppsspp if XDG_CONFIG_HOME isn't defined or doesn't exist. The rest of the guide past "Where things go" is only relevant for MS Windows.

Where things go:
PPSSPP uses a file layout similar to the real PSP.

$memstickroot denotes wherever you're keeping PPSSPP's PSP folder. This is usually "memstick", but if you use installed.txt, it's either PPSSPP/PSP in My Documents, or whatever directory you defined in installed.txt.

- Cheats are now located in $memstickroot/PSP/Cheats.
- Config files are now located in $memstickroot/PSP/SYSTEM.
- Screenshots are now located in $memstickroot/PSP/SCREENSHOT.
- Save states can be found in $memstickroot/PSP/PPSSPP_STATE.
- In-game saves are found in $memstickroot/PSP/SAVEDATA.
- DLC files go in $memstickroot/PSP/GAME/<your game id here> in most cases, but it can vary by game.
- Game or Demo EBOOT.PBPs go in $memstickroot/PSP/GAME/<give a new folder a name>.

Help! After upgrading to a newer build/version my stuff seems to be gone!
If you have PPSSPP in a read-only directory, or if it can't use the current directory(or the directory you specified in installed.txt) for some reason, it'll use your My Documents or Documents folder, where it'll drop everything in a new folder called PPSSPP.

I don't want my memory stick stuff in the same directory as PPSSPP. I'd prefer PPSSPP to store its saves and files in My Documents (or just Documents on Vista/7/8/8.1). How can I change it?

Create a text file called installed.txt in the same directory as PPSSPP (and leave its contents blank). This will make PPSSPP use your Documents or My Documents folder (in a new folder called PPSSPP) instead of the "memstick" directory where PPSSPP resides.

Yes. If you enter a file path inside installed.txt (for example, C:\blah\psp), PPSSPP will use this directory instead of My Documents. However, if PPSSPP can't access this directory for some reason (read-only, it's missing, whatever the case), PPSSPP will fall back on using My Documents/PPSSPP. Also, if you require UTF-8 characters(e.g. Japanese/Russian/Korean/Chinese/etc.) characters in your path, make sure you save installed.txt as UTF-8, otherwise Bad Things (can't find saves, saves being written in mysterious places, etc.) can happen!

I don't care about that/I don't use installed.txt/I want to use the old way! How do I make my cheats and stuff work now that a bunch of stuff was moved around?!

Make sure you don't have an installed.txt file, first off, and this will let PPSSPP use the old behaviour of using the memstick folder in the same directory as PPSSPP (except for things that have permanently moved, like cheats and screenshots).

Hi it crashes after i load the game and when i start the game by pressing start it load the video and crashes. (Lego Batman)
I will include the log file so you can see the error what leads to more.
Around line 500 it dies.
Downloaded it from the google play store today so i know it is the latest and i know the game plays as i run it on the pc emulator of PPSSPP.

Please help! When I press save state, I get the message "Failed to save state!" (ppsspp v0.9.1-1g0a0377a, Ritmix rmd 1040, final fantasy tactics the war of the lions).

Like if someone has a 120hz monitor and wants to get 120fps, but play at normal game speed, can this be done? If so, how so?

I just downloaded the Windows 0.9.1 ZIP Emulator and every single time I try to open the application, the program stops like this:

Before my Laptop was last reformatted, the ppsspp worked perfectly fine everytime I loaded it up.

Now after reformatting my Laptop to Windows XP Professional SP3 it comes up with error "PPSSPP Has encountered a problem and needs to close." every time I start it up.

I have the latest DirectX, graphic's driver and I have VC2010 redist. So what the heck is going on here??? Why is it not working?

So, I have a Galaxy S4 (Snapdragon 600) and performance is less than stellar I would say. Some games considered very stable like Monster Hunter FU and Dissidia don't run great on my devide (I'm using the latest version available at PlayStore).

I thought it was because of the high resolution (GS4 doesn't handle PS1 emulators with opengl well either, because of the resolution), but I've seem a video from someone rocking a Xperia Z play (also 1080p) and running Monster Hunter (with PPSSPP 0.75) at 30~60 fps. I get 15~30.

Isn't Galaxy S4 supposed to be a fairly powerfull device for emulators? I'm a little disappointed with it because it seems weaker devices run some emulators better than my GS4.

Is this a general issue with the S4?

And yes, I've read the tweaking graphics thread. Sadly, it didn't help much in my case.
