The legality is still questionable (things like bundled decryption keys, etc), drawing attention to it would probably not end well for the project leads. Not to mention that if there's actual money starting to be made (current donations and other income seems to have mainly been used to buy test devices) some big contributors will want a cut (not me, since I only did minor patches) and that's just a legal nightmare.
