Rainbow MHFU and MHP3rd best settings
Hello,
I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with the new KitKat update installed and would like to play the two Monster Hunter games on my phone. I already bought the Sixaxis tool so that I can use my PS3 controller which works pretty well.
Sooo, the game runs at full speed most of the time, but it starts lagging when encountering a big Monster (e.g. Tigrex).
The settings I used:
Non-buffered Rendering / Frameskipping off / Prevent FPS from exceeding 60 / Mipmapping / HW Transform / Vertex Cache / Lazy texture Caching / Low Quality splines and bezier curves / Show FPS counter both / Fast memory / Dynarec JIT
The rest is turned off or left at default.
If someone could tell me if there's anything I could do to improve the speed in those to games, I'd be really happy Smile
Oh, and I checked the Compatibility and Results Forum but couldn't find anything that would help.
I used this version :PPSSPP v0.9.6-522-gf16fa45
And I am aware of the speed problems that occur on snapdragon devices, I really hope it will be fixed soon... If there's something a person who is not skilled in coding or programming could do, I'd be happy to help.
Well, thanks in advance!
Uftherr

RE: MHFU and MHP3rd best settings
Nah, not really... I already checked that thread multiple times... I thought there might be some settings that don't work well with the MH series (like software skinning).
Is there a way to skip only 0.5 frames instead of 1? In MHFU, Frameskip 1 feels choppy and makes it unplayable to me.
And a little request: it would be nice if you guys added game specific options so that I don't have change the stuff everytime I play another game. Smile

Precisely, you made me remember that you should disable software skinning with Monster Hunter games Smile

RE: MHFU and MHP3rd best settings
* Disable Alpha Test (PowerVR speedup)
* also speeds up adreno gpus, so u can try that.
* but in exchange, u can see some little graphic glitches.
* or try this build http://buildbot.orphis.net/ppsspp/index....rm=android and use Frameskip Auto

* and compare it with this one http://buildbot.orphis.net/ppsspp/index....rm=android and also use Frameskip Auto

Thanks, but the links don't work. Whenever I click on them they send me on the build index page.
However, I checked the link and saw that I should download this build: v0.9.6-63-g9c545ee
Problem is: everytime I click on download it simply refreshes the page Sad

Do you use the CPU clock at 60, in Settings>System? Smile

I tried it, but there's no difference at all. It's the same leaving it at 0.

Try CPU Clock @ 222, it works wonder! Don't know why.
Although CPU clock supposed to slow down fps as the value increases.
! Also don't forget to disable logging if you're not looking for errors. !
Turn on multithreading, i/o on thread, fast memory.

Turning off software skinning for speedup, seems working only on town.... On my device. XD

RE: MHFU and MHP3rd best settings
Ok, thanks. I turned on Frameskip 1 and now it works at full speed. Kind of weird playing it with frameskip but I'll get used to it.
However, after a while, the game starts lagging like sh*t. Like 20 minutes of gaming. I'm not sure if it is because of the hardware overheating or just PPSSPP... Maybe anyone knows?

RE: MHFU and MHP3rd best settings
I already found out that frameskip helps plus setting the resolution to 1x1psp.
Works flawless with Galaxy S3 FPSwise...
The only problem I have is that the sound is crackly.
I have no idea how to fix this, anyone has a clue?

RE: MHFU and MHP3rd best settings
Guys, if you want games like this to run smooth on Android hardware just get an app off the store to change the resolution of your display. It makes no end of difference to speed. Im on a tablet that is midrange at best and can play MHFU at full framerate, no skip and perfect sound.
