RE: [Tutorial] MHP3rd HD 2, 3, & 4 Player Guide w/Networking
Hello, I've been searching on this forum about playing MHP3rd with friends for a week or so and with AsSlowAsHell's guide I could manage to play with 2 and 2 people only even after following a lot of methods we could not manage to make it work with more people, so I tought it would be good to come here and ask some things to you guys.

We tried chelc's method but we couldn't make it work...even with two players because the speed was on "unlimited" that made the toggle accelerate the game. When you tried to use this method, it was necessary to put the game to run at 25%?

We tried also using the 5% by following Yokuho's recommendation because we suspect that one of our friend's ping is the cause of our trouble (150ms) and the loading really took LONG and we tought that maybe turning the speed back to normal was a good idea because it took long and the friend with high ping was kicked out while me and the host finished the loading and started playing as it should be.

Thanks for the guides and all.

RE: [Tutorial] MHP3rd HD 2, 3, & 4 Player Guide w/Networking
Heyho,

First i have a suggestion for your guide: set the ppsspp.ini to not writeable after changing the setting to 3.

So now for the people:
25% Trick ensures that all will stay in the quest because the game thinks you have a 4 times better connection then playing with 100% (you only need to slow down during the quest loading process after this you can change back to 100%)

The 5% Trick is only for those who have very bad connections. It will make your connection 20 times better then normal. What you use it up to you and your connection.

The turn off Fast memory (unstable) trick is only for playing with 3 people. You dont have to do this to get connected or playing with 2 or 4 palyers this is only for 3 Players.

AsSlowAsHell you could add this in your guide Big Grin

RE: [Tutorial] MHP3rd HD 2, 3, & 4 Player Guide w/Networking
Hi everyone I have a problem with Monster Hunter 3rd HD.
I Can join a quest and using 25% trick make it working.
But I can't Host the quest...even when i do the same trick which makes it work as a guest...
And It is the same when i'm Hosting the server or when someone else Host the server...

I Forwarded a lot of ports so this should not be the problem...

Just to be more precise here is the trick i use when i join a quest and make it works each time : When the Quest Host launches the quest i wait to ear the hunt Horn to use 25% trick during the noise.(so before i see loading screen)
Then i untoogle when the quests starts.
I noticed that i can untoogle as soon as the "begginning quest" message appears in the loading screen ans it works as well.

So What is the problem with me Hosting quests ?

Im from France
My MAX ping is 150ms with US people
and 60-70 with EU people (playing with swedish and Ukrainian)
When pingin google.com with cmd i get 10-15 ping

RE: [Tutorial] MHP3rd HD 2, 3, & 4 Player Guide w/Networking
So I just started playing this game after playing 3 Ultimate so now I'm able to play with my friends! WRONG. I have an upload speed of almost about 0.30 kbps or MB basically speedtest ver. but when I play other online games I have almost a perfect connection no disconnects or anything.

A problem came up with I'm guessing it's the emulator? But every time I try to go into the Online Guild Hall, my emulator freezes and I get a communications error, I have NEVER gotten this error before today and all I did was update my computer through the Windows Update, any way on how to fix this? Also another issue...

I can see my friends when I was able to get into the Online Hall, but when I try to join a game...I usually can only get into the game like 10% of the time and majority of the time it's only with 1 person. Sometimes we'll use three people, but I'll get booted and the same two friends are always together (the host of the hamachi and just another friend).

Now we tried with four people but I can only ever get in with one other person and it's never with the host of the server. Is there any way I can fix this at all so I can play with all four friends at the same time? or even with one other friend?

Sorry, I'm noob but I'm asking how do you run MHP3rd on PPSSPP, when I run the game, I load my save then the screen becomes black and then I can't control anything. I'm using MHP3rd.iso patched v5.0 .

This happened to me when I first tried playing the game on multiplayer too. For me, it was because I was using the non-HD ver iso of the game (Maybe it's because of some missing decrypted file in PAUTH needed to play multiplayer for non-HD version?).

Then I changed to HD ver iso and I didn't have the problem anymore. I could load into the gathering hall no problem Big Grin

I'm pretty sure you can play multiplayer between MHP3 HD (running on emulator) and MHP3 (running on PSP). Those are literally the same game with some graphic difference (you can even change save files between them Big Grin).

As for guide on how to link emulator and psp, you can search it in the forum. I think I've read it somewhere before.

I'm not 100% sure but you could try it and tell me the result.

Hi, I too had problem playing 3 players on MH3 HD. Tried to find the solution for the problem for nearly 2 days before I found this post. Here is what I did that got us playing 3 players:

1. Download the exact build of ppsspp-v0.9.6-393-g628426b from http://buildbot.orphis.net/ppsspp/

2. Copy the following lines and completely replace the lines in the ppsspp.ini located in .../memstick/PSP/SYSTEM

3. Change the proAdhocServer ip and MAC adress in ppsspp.ini to your own

4. Change the alternative speed to 25% at settings>graphics

5. Untick Fast memory (unstable) at settings>system

Do all the things above and I really hope you get to play 3 players too. Credits to chelc for the lines and the ppsspp build.

Currently having fun time hunting with my 2 bros Big Grin
