PPSSPP x86\ARM v7 which is the one on google play?
Good evening,

I'm a bit confused, when I browse google play I only see one PPSSPP version (regardless of it being regular or gold).

I assume it's the ARM one? or..? x.x /confused

However, the f-droid link on the PPSSPP website lists two versions for android:

Version 0.9.6-armv7
and
Version 0.9.6-x86

Could anyone explain what the difference is and WHICH one is currently on Google Play?

Thanks in advance

The Google Store should contain binaries for all 3 platforms (x86, arm-v7 and arm-v6).

4GHz AMD 3900X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 6GB Nvidia RTX 2060, Asus Crosshair 7 Hero (Wifi), Linux

RE: PPSSPP x86\ARM v7 which is the one on google play?
Hey, thanks for the replies. So the appropriate version is selected automatically whe I install from the play store I take it?

My device is a Nexus 4 and the reason I ask is that I also happen to have F-Droid installed and it's been nagging me for months to update my PPSSPP version from 0.9.6 to 0.9.6-armv7
I'm guessing the version I have installed (which is the one install from the google play store) which shows 0.9.6 on the F-Droid app is the x86 version.

So I was wondering which version I'm supposed to be using.

thanks in advance

Due to the way Google Play works, all three binaries are downloaded, then the one appropriate for your platform is unpacked and used. This is nothing to worry about.

0.9.6 hasn't been out for "months", just barely "month", so I doubt it has been nagging you about that specifically for that long Smile

Anyway, f-droid builds are likely to be okay but I'm of course gonna recommend the APK from the play store.

RE: PPSSPP x86\ARM v7 which is the one on google play?
Ah I see, thanks once more for the explanation!

Ok so maybe it's me that confused it, maybe it wasn't nagging me about 0.9.6 arm b4 maybe it nagged me about 0.9.5 arm
Regardless I'll just ignore F-Droid (even though I tell it to not notify me of that particular update it still does silly app :\ ).

I mostly asked because I know some apps have ARM versions that actually have better performance so I was hoping for some ~*magical*~ performance boost out of it Tongue
But hey, I can always try it out and reinstall from the play store after comparing the result.
