Best optimized Chipset for android
Reading this forum, I've found that Snapdragon is not too good for running PPSSPP. How's the performance of other processors like Tegra, Exynos, Mediatek, Allwinner, Rockchip? Which one of these is best optimized for PPSSPP?

Also, which android GPUs are best for the current versions? I've seen devices using Tegra, Adreno, PowerVR, Mali etc. In your experience, which of these would be able to run PSP games the best?

Adreno IMO.. anything bar snapdragon.
I have an xperia u (Nova Thor) and it runs great. dual core a9 BTW ( Mali 400) but some graphic glitches now and then.

Snapdragon is the name of the SOC that includes the Adreno GPU. You don't get one without the other.

What's more important for getting better speed on android? The processor or the gpu?

RE: Best optimized Chipset for android
I have s4, s600, s800 and tegra 4.. Adreno 320 is definitely not the best! So s4/s600 isn't giving the best results. S800 isn't that bad considering that most interesting phones and devices uses this chipset. But tegra 4 is the best from my experience, tekken 5 runs 60fps with clear sound and no issues, tekken 6 is 30-40 fps. S800 doesn't show such results

I know, he asked what GPU has the best graphics.. as we know Mali and power vr have graphics problems so in that sense Adreno is best at the moment, the only downside to that is snapdragon has speed problems, that's why I said stay away from snapdragon unless he prefers nice graphics over speed..
Thx for the heads up but I ain't dumb.

If you read the question he asked two of them.. what's the best CPU (speed) and then what's the best GPU , I wasn't comparin.

Also if the question was the thread name "what is the best chipset for ppsspp"and I gave that answer then yes, I understand what your sayin, but he does ask 2 questions..
That's why I go on to say I have an xperia u Nova Thor (speed) than I reiterate that Mali has graphic problems.

Edit: I see what your sayin , its the way iv wrote it.

Didn't mean to suggest you were. Simple miss-communication is all.

RE: Best optimized Chipset for android
What I meant was best chipset for running PPSSPP on android. I understand that the Adreno GPU is very good for running other android apps, but since it's paired with snapdragon processors, it won't be well optimized for PPSSPP.

I myself have used a tablet with an allwinner chipset using a dual core cortex a8 processor and mali-400 gpu. Sadly, most games on ppsspp lagged.

I can see that Tegra seems to be the best chipset currently. However, very few devices are currently running tegra 4 chipsets.

Has anyone used the other chipsets? How good are the mediatek/powervr sgx 544, exynos/mali based mobiles?

RE: Best optimized Chipset for android
Tried adreno 203, powervr sgx 530, Mali 400, adreno 200..

Best graphic wise(less bugs) adreno at least on my devices.. fastest all round berformance Mali 400 paired with nova Thor( xperia u)
Very very quick, most games I tried on xperia u run full speed on a frameskipp of 1.

@fivefeet8:- np, my bad, I worded wrong.. appilogies.

There may be hardware or software bottlenecks on both or either the Krait CPU or Adreno GPU that can not be easily overcome that is causing the performance issues.

RE: Best optimized Chipset for android
You will be able to play with adreno 330 but i think thats the limit...only adreno 330. And dont expect to play all the games.

Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Rom: Stock, non rooted.

What kind of performance should I expect on google nexus 7 (2013)? It has snapdragon processor with adreno 320 gpu.
