Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions

RE: Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
As far as I can see nothing bugs out by using rush(aka dash) squire skill at least not on latest ppsspp(tested on v1.3-280-gfc9599e), so it might be your settings(especially if you used any speedhacks or dangerous settings like multithreading, emulated cpu clock etc.), cheats or simply game became unstable from playing for a very long time, abusing savestates simulates such situation hence emulators will show instability problems of games quite easily.

Quick solution for all of the above ~ You can try disabling any cheats you're using and restoring default settings, then restarting emulation and reloading game from normal save(avoiding past savestates completely). If the problem still happens, might be something with game copy or platform specific.

I'm getting a black screen upon loading the game into my iPad Air 2. It goes to black and then immediately crashes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Any news on audio fix, I dont have the source but I remember reading that ppsspp devs are planing some interpolation audio fix for WotL.
Best version of the game but the audio is awful, tried to fix situation with audio control panel in drivers and even can mask some of the screeching and crackling but still, not enough to make it enjoyable.

RE: Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
Edit: This issue is fixed by build v1.5.2-1-gd884eeda9

Just noticed some small graphical errors with this game under the Direct3D 9 renderer in the recent 1.5 release for Windows. The battle cursor, facing indicators and text elements of certain menus appear to be negative images. Direct3D 11 and OpenGL don't seem to have this issue, so try those if you're having this problem.

Crashes on v1.5.4 when entering every battle at character placement screen.. Happened when using vulkan, and didn't happen when using openGL.. I used my LG v20 and MHP3rd runs really well with vulkan

Even on 1.8.0, I'm getting strange slow downs on certain abilities animations, audio crackles mostly, and the audio seems awful at times during the crackling. I'm surprised this is not fixed yet.

RE: Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
Has anyone else had issues where the game has hideous graphical "smears?" I've tried toggling every setting I can, and nothing seems to stop them. I'm using the slowdown fix and the screen resolution fix.

- texture scaling + higher rendering res - might not affect everything and some textures will be affected with delays for performance reasons,
- texture replacement with higher definition images + higher rendering res - might work for more/possibly all things better, but requires manual work,
- 5xBR postprocessing shader - does not look as good on stretched graphics which this game has, it will also look worse on 3D elements, applies to whole screen and comparing to the other two is very light.

Technically if you can build PPSSPP by yourself, you can tweak/disable some performance features to reduce/remove automatic texture scaling delays, but it will make it much heavier and instead of textures being changed when possible, game might slow down/pause whenever bunch of textures are processed. Wouldn't really recommend messing with it as scaling textures in real time in many games would be very slow even on powerful gaming pc's.

Might as well use the occasion to dump some cwcheat patches I made for this game:

slowdown fix was pretty much ripped from ppf patch, so should work same way as that popular patch. Original resolution was made from 0 so results might differ from similar "unstretch" patches made for psp via some plugin, either way it's very simple detects whenever something was stretched or not and sets output vertices differently based on that, shouldn't cause any problems. Edit: one warning, better avoid using original res unless planning to play that way as the unpatched psp res will feel really ugly afterwards;p. NextDayEdit: Shortened Original resolution cheat, removing a bit I used when testing as it doesn't need it.

So far this has work instead of the patcher, the patcher cause my iso file to be corrupted..

here is how to do it:

Step 1: open ppsspp.ini (located in memstick/PSP/SYSTEM) then find and
set encryptsave to false.

Step 2: Play the game and create a save or load a saved game then save
it. close the emulator.

Step 3: Go to the save file directory
(memstick\PSP\SAVEDATA\ULUS10297FFT0000) then rename
FFTA.sys to lioneditor.bin.

Step 4: Open lion editor (Get here: https://code.google.com/p/lioneditor/)
File -> open -> navigate to your save directory and open
lioneditor.bin then edit away. For an example let's pump Ramza's
PA and MA to 99 then File -> save. Close lion editor.

Step 5: Rename lioneditor.bin back to FFTA.sys
(you might have to uncheck "hide extensions for known file types" in folder options to do this)

Step 6: Open ppsspp, load your save then voila!

Hope this helps.

Doesn't work for me. Renamed the unencrypted FFTA.SYS to lioneditor.bin, but LionEditor won't open it. :\

Hi LunaMoo and thanks a lot for your wonderful patches! I plan to play FFT with the original aspect ratio but full screen (without black borders at top and bottom). So instead of having a resolution of 320x240, I'd like something like 363x272. I've tried to modify some values in your code to do so, without success. Do you know how to "stretch" the game to full screen 4:3 resolution? Thank you very much and have a nice day!

RE: Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
Can anyone else confirm massive FPS drop while in the save menu in FF Tactics WOTL? It happens when trying to load/save the game via the in game save feature. I have ran the same game on my PC with no FPS drop there, but it happens on the android version.

Any help or clarity would be awesome.
