Rainbow MHFU connection woes
Hello everyone, still alive? I'm new here.

My friend and I are experiencing connection issues with MHFU. We have tried everything in Barbanium's tutorial and FAQ. We have been stuck at the part where we are getting disconnected very shortly after starting a quest. We have tried messing with graphics, network settings, and port forwarded ports 27312, 20000-20004, and 10000, as well as achieving green smiley connection status and editing/pasting our tunngle mac address into the .ini file. (in our tunngle options, the port is set to 27312, I do not know if this is right but after I forwarded that port I got green status).

Can anyone here help us narrow this stuff down? It's really frustrating and it just seems like there is a vast multitude of things that could be dropping our connection. Any and all help is duly appreciated. Thanks!

RE: MHFU connection woes
To be honest, the dropping out of quest after starting got fixed many versions ago. Are you using the latest stable version? And are you both using the same version?

RE: MHFU connection woes
Try turning off your firewall, your friend should do the same. Fast memory should be turned off as well because it prevents you from playing 3-4man parties. Each individual has to do this.

If you have mcafee, AVG turn them off as well, has helped for some people. Any software that can block connections should be turned off. You can configure them but if it works when you turn them off then you know where the problem is Smile

MHFU Player dropping connection (Windows)
All day long I've been trying to set up MHFU for multiplayer so that be and my husband can play together, but I just can't figure it out and I'm about at the end of my rope. Sad
When we go online together we can see each others characters in the gathering hall where we can drink, dance, choose quests and just be silly, but when it comes to starting a quest the other persons character immediately drops out of the quest at the beginning of it no matter what we do.
I've tried everything down to server files such as Evolve; but it's just so confusing I don't know how to set it up correctly. We've also tried setting the alternate speed once the quest loads but no luck there either. (Note we don't need evolve to see each other in the gathering hall ppsspp does that by itself)
I've been digging through the internet all day and the only tutorials I can find are 4 year old ones with outdates download files that have been taken down. I've also been trying to find the adhocserver.exe but I can't find it anywhere as any download link for it has been taken down.

Help would be very, very much appreciated; so thanks in advance.

RE: MHFU Player dropping connection (Windows)
Lets start with things you should NOT do.
Do not look for adhocserver, because it is integrated into PPSSPP itself now.
Do not use alternate speeds.

Now things TO DO.
Do disable fast memory in settings.

Also, here is a good tutorial on connectivity. It is for Phantasy star, but the settings still are the same.

Mkay...
It sounds more like there is something else wrong with your setups.
Have you allowed PSSPP trough firewall?
Is your router configured very strictly?
Do you have crappy ISP that does not allow some specific traffic?
Maybe there is something else blocking communication? Crappy antiviruses?
