Programming directly on GPU (VideoCore)
hi devs i found this thread by xsacha
http://forum.dailymobile.net/index.php?topic=91877.0
and i wonder if you can use some optimisation for this GPU .. and as i know this GPU is programmable .. can we add some opengl 3 API .. i don't know but is it possible .. in PC gpu they always upgrade opengl just with driver .. can we upgrade open gl in videocore via driver or kernel ...
there is new phones **galaxy S 2 plus and galaxy grand** supprt Videocore IV .. bcm 28155 and 28145 ... and it is powerfull gpu i hope we use this power in the future .. good luck

broadcom : Unlike most competing solutions, VideoCore is fully programmable. This enables the user to program and re-program different applications in software. VideoCore offers huge benefits regardless of whether you require a standard solution such as MPEG4 or a totally proprietary codec.

RE: Programming directly on GPU (VideoCore)
I don't think there are likely to be any easy gains to be had, any performance win going this way will require a ton of work. It doesn't make sense for me to focus hard on a single series of devices like that, with no benefit to other devices, but maybe xsacha is interested enough.
