PPSSPP on XBOX ONE and PS4
Since both next-gen consoles are based on x86-64 architecture and possess a pretty powerful hardware, I'm absolutely sure that the homebrew scene on both of these consoles are going to be huge. Is there any chance that PPSSPP would join the party so we can play PSP games sitting on a sofa with a gamepad?

Besides, knowing precisely which hardware is going to run the emulation, it should be really easy to make the most of it.

Playing PPSSPP and PS2 emulator exclusively on a PC:
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX
AMD FX6100 Hexa-core CPU @ 3.4gHz
ASUS GTX650
2x4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 @ 1600mHz
Logitech F710 (Also Logitech G19, Logitech G700s, Logitech G35, Logitech X540, Logitech C510 and Logitech ATK3)

RE: PPSSPP on XBOX ONE and PS4
Not! The PPSSPP needs a hacked console to run, and it will take so much time (if be possible hack). The hardware isn't the problem, because even the PS3 can run it.

Phones: Poco F3 8GB/256GB (Snapdragon 870 5G) and Redmi Note 6 Pro 4/64GB (Snapdragon 636)

PC: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 / 16GB RAM DDR4 3600MHz / NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti 6GB / Windows 10 Pro

i am sure that will take years for someone hack the New-Gen Consoles, even ps3 was hard. i am sure that you will see the ppsspp on Xbone and ps4 when ps3 is playable with emulator on PC.

but they`re not running on a cell processor Smile

These consoles are based on x86-64 CPUs. PS4 OS, if I recall correctly, is already confirmed to be a Linux-based OS. Thus, it's only a matter of a couple of months.

What "not!"? Huh

If it comes to the "hack", I'm really confident about it, it would be a lot faster than it was for PS3/360.

And regarding the easiness of porting, I meant that developers in proccess of porting would already know what exact hardware is going to be used, therefore it would require minimal testing and minimal/no at all options available.

RE: PPSSPP on XBOX ONE and PS4
The PS4 having a Linux-like OS doesn't mean squat. It won't be open source, and if they're doing it correctly, everything will be encrypted and signed, not to mention both consoles are using custom hardware. These consoles are not PCs. There's no telling what they'll have implemented for security, so a "couple of months" is pretty unlikely. Sure, having x86 based processors would make it less tougher to understand code, but you (meaning a personal in general, not you specifically) can't see it in an unencrypted format, edit it, etc., so you're basically in the same boat as the PowerPC consoles at the moment.

That said, only time will tell. I would guess a bare minimum of 6 months to a year before details begin trickling out.

Don't get me wrong, it'd be cool to have PPSSPP running on game consoles, but "a couple of months" is a really unrealistic timeframe.

4GHz AMD 3900X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 6GB Nvidia RTX 2060, Asus Crosshair 7 Hero (Wifi), Linux

well, I'm not meaning about some easy cracking method as softhack, but more about chips Smile They should be more easy to develop no?

you do realize, just because it is based on linux, doesn't mean it can run unsigned code right? even the 360 isn't exactly hacked..they have to glitch into it to make it skip a few functions to load unsigned code, and they had to hack the drive firmware to get it to load copied games (360 is based on a windows xp core)

there will be so many hardware checks built in I am pretty confident that neither will be hacked fro a number of years.

no... look at the what they had to resort to with the 360 just to glitch in..
that possibility can easily be stopped by a custom low level chip that combines the clock and flash/firmware into a single chip, making it impossible to glitch before startup..or they could use secure keys embedded behind a firewalled asic style chip that talks to another chip that has the appropriate encoded system commands... no RSA keys to decrypt, authentication of original code and no running of the software....Nagravision does something similar with their nagra 3 sat card (Directv as well) only the proper matching key from the factory allows access to the firewall to read/change code on the card.. N3 has been in existence for about 7 years now and so far only one provider has been hacked, and it was only by luck.
Digicypher and videocypher were never actually hacked on C band either.. lots of ways fro them to actually encrypt data communications between chips that make it very difficult to hack as a system..
it's not like the old days, M$ and Sony both have learned a lot about keeping their hardware secure

RE: PPSSPP on XBOX ONE and PS4
Thanks for a very complicated replies, guys, but guessing when anyone would be able to "hack" these consoles is just like taking shots in the dark Smile

The point of this thread and the main question is the following:
Whenever any homebrew software is made possible to run on One and PS4, will PPSSPP developers take part and port this fabulous emulator to the next-gen consoles? Dodgy

RE: PPSSPP on XBOX ONE and PS4
EDIT: PS4 games are already being analyzed and extracted. They all come in a single .PKG file (structure similar to PS3). It's all up to CFW now.

RE: PPSSPP on XBOX ONE and PS4
PPSSPP is open source - if these consoles are hacked enough to run the JIT and access the GPU, someone will definitely port it. I wouldn't hold my breath though.
