Well, it runs fine on my galaxy s (at&t version), I can run low-end and middle-end games at decent speed, high-end games like gow, tekken 5 are slow though (tekken only 20 fps in practice mode, 25 fps with 1400 mhz oc, I still have to test live oc - the results should be higher).

So, first of all try running 0.9.1 stable build, if it doesn't help then you should upgrade your phone to ICS or JB (cyanogen mod for instance), cause Gingerbread graphics drivers are buggy (at least for me).
I guess if it still doesn't work I just have to upgrade my firmware.. mine is 2.2
