Video driver crashing
I am using ppsspp to play Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep and everything is working beautifully, except for the fact my video driver keeps crashing making the game not very playable. why? no idea. my computer should be able to handle the emulator just fine:
Windows 7 64-bit
quad core prosessor
8 GB Ram
ATI Radeon HD 4600 series Video card
latest drivers as far as i know.

any ideas to keep my diver from crashing?

RE: Video driver crashing
Have you reverted to Catalyst 11.11? I had problems with frequent crashes using the latest Catalyst (13.2?) and finally reverted to Catalyst 11.11 on solarmystic's advice, and haven't had a single video driver crash since.

I only use PPSSPP on Windows.
Intel Core i3 1.9GHz | 4GB RAM | Integrated Intel HD 4400 | Windows 8.1 x64

Latest AMD OGL drivers + ATI Radeon HD Legacy Cards (2xxx/3xxx/4xxx) + PPSSPP = Instabilities and Video Driver Crashes.

Downgrade back to the 11.11a performance drivers for a superior experience on your legacy card when using PPSSPP.

I've recommended this to every single ATI legacy card owner using PPSSPP on this forum and have gotten zero complaints from that recommendation. I should know, I'm using the exact same card like you are. Hundreds of hours of gameplay, and not a single crash due to display driver issues.

Also refer to this thread for the various other shortcomings that ATI/AMD graphics cards have with regards to PPSSPP:-

EDIT:- Thanks for the initial response Sarisa81.

PPSSPP Modern Testbed:-
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 VRAM @ 1138/6500 Mhz
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

PPSSPP Ancient Testing Rig:-
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 @ 2.8GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 VRAM @ 843/882 MHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz
Windows 7 x64 SP1

Hi there,

Make sure you are using the latest Beta version which at the time of writing this: v0.9.9-27-g62d1948

Found here: http://buildbot.orphis.net/ppsspp/index.php

Hopefully that will now allow you to play your ripped games that you own. Cool
