RE: [PS2] A manly tear was shed.
best console ever made.. alongside Dreamcast IMO.
I bought my PS2 in 2003 and still have it, its still going strongSmile unlike ps3 Xbox 360 red ring etc..

Get this, iv owned 5 Xbox 360s since 2005.. and 3 died.. PS2 was money well spent.
I know, you'd think I would have learned after the first few... never again though.. Android Rules, and with devs such as Henrik, Paul Lamb etc.. it could get better stillSmile

RE: [PS2] A manly tear was shed.
I paid in mine R$50,00, but I needed pay R$80,00 in the controller SONY and R$35,00 in Memory Card. And I also bought I optic reader, my PS2 don't read some games, then I thought the optic reader was broken, then I bought a new reader and paid R$28,00, I think, I don't remember. But the problem was not solved.

The problem is: When I try play some games, crash on intro. The Sims 2 is crashing before menu, when the logo is rotating, is as a scratched disc. The L.A. Rush crashes on Midway logo. Others games are freezing in game

RE: [PS2] A manly tear was shed.
Mine is still working fine, I have an SCPH 30000 series Black thick model
and still kicking ass, I bought it 11 years ago about 2003 to be exact, I only use HD Loader to play my games and not by it's lens, playing from the lens sucks since its a hassle to fix when it dies out and has a shorter life span compared to the HD loader which I only need my trusty IDE Hard Disk, an IDE cable and a few software to store my games in the hard disk.Smile

RE: [PS2] A manly tear was shed.
I remembered the very first PS2 games my mother bought me along with the console were Bust-a-move, Metropolismania, Rockman X7, and Legaia 2 - yeah i know those are just crappy games - but i had a great memory playing them with my mom watching, really makes me wanna cry when i remember it now. Smile
That Fat console still works great after all this years (but the laser is dead) Tongue

● If you report (or happen to find any) game/mini/demo that's still not on the compatibility list yet even after 48 hours, you can PM me the link!
● Sorry for my bad english, I'm Indonesian.

RE: [PS2] A manly tear was shed.
I paid only R$50,00 in mine, because not come with controller and memory card, and already was used. By the serie number, I know was made in 2004, and in UK. I bought knowing the console has problem. But the most important thing, is that the console is working. Smile

RE: [PS2] A manly tear was shed.
If you console is hacked, you can run by a pen driver, or external HD. But you can get lag, and some games are not compatibles.
Or you buy a great PC and run it on PCSX2 or other emulator, if available. Wink

Flash drives?

Use HD Loader, burn the software onto the disk, and get a Maxtor Hard Drive (IDE Type) (a lot of games are compatible with that drive),the biggest one you can get is about 500 GB, you can use SATA type but it's slower , a PS2 Network Adapter to attach the hard drive and an IDE cable tested and working on my SCPH 30000 Model, I've been using my PS2 almost everyday for 8 years now without worrying about my lens from dying out.
