I can't make the Xbox 360 D-Pad/Right Analog work simultaneously
(v0.9.1-832-g2d084ec)

In MHFU you use the PSP D-Pad to control the camera and navigate through menus.

I'm here with the original 360 controller and I'd like to control the camera on the second/right analog stick, but keep the D-Pad working at the same time.

I kinda managed to do this, the second analog works great, but then the D-Pad starts acting wonky, it's like there's a huge delay, I press UP multiple times and it doesn't respond well.

I have messed with the Control Mapping in all sorts of way but to no avail.

Thanks. Smile

RE: I can't make the Xbox 360 D-Pad/Right Analog work simultaneously
Interesting...

I just tried a random generic PS2 controller and everything works fine.

I also noticed it's hard to sprint with the 360 controller, hmm... And no my 360 controller is not broken, I play a lot of PC games with it (Blacklist just recently).

Any suggestions? What could be the problem?

Sounds like there could be a problem with using a 360 controller. Other than that I have no clue as I use a PS3 controller for MHFU. Why not just stick to using the PS2 one, or do you just prefer using the Xbox one?

I do, and it's a generic PS2 controller, not really the best build out there, lol.

Maybe button remap is not working well with 360 controllers?

I am sure I saw a thread about it somewhere or maybe a post in one of the MHFU threads. I am sure a mod like VNC could tell you.

RE: I can't make the Xbox 360 D-Pad/Right Analog work simultaneously
I have already seen some users who have problems with XBOX360 controllers, I really don't know why there is a problem...

Personally I use a PS3/PC controller and I can manage to control the camera with the right analog stick + to control the menus with the D-Pad without any problem.
For example, to play MHFU, I like to move the camera to the left and to the right with the right analog stick, so I just have to use this configuration :

RE: I can't make the Xbox 360 D-Pad/Right Analog work simultaneously
I have same problem with ppsspp v0.9.1-1189
Setting Up, Down, Left, Right button to Xbox D-Pad and Right Analog makes D-pad bottons don't work occasionally.
I'm using window version.

(Sorry for my bad English. I'm Korean.)

RE: I can't make the Xbox 360 D-Pad/Right Analog work simultaneously
Hi, sorry if I'm necroing a bit, but I'm also experiencing this problem on PPSSPP v0.9.6.2 using an Xbox 360 controller. The controller itself has no issues. I've already gone into Control Mapping and setup both my D-pad and my right analog stick to use the same D-pad controls. The D-pad stops working at random intervals and it is perceived as a delay to some people. In actuality, some inputs are completely lost and it may take quite a few presses on the D-pad to get a result on-screen. The right analog stick has no problem at all. I suppose this is an issue with different inputs (D-pad and analog stick) being mapped to the same function?

remove your gemepad bind keys from ppsspp controls than download antimicro

http://www.ryochan7.com/projects/antimicro/

and just configure it to with keyboard keys that will match ppsspp

here is little explanation about antimicro

http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=10190

Try AntiMicro graphical program used to map keyboard keys and mouse controls to a gamepad/controller.

RE: I can't make the Xbox 360 D-Pad/Right Analog work simultaneously
Before doing that, I suggest trying v0.9.8-97-g3b09242 or later from the buildbot since [Unknown] made Windows builds check for controller activity more often than before. It's possible PPSSPP wasn't scanning your controller often enough, causing it to get funky.

I downloaded the latest build, the issue has improved some, but it still happens on Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (most notably inside the item box and item menus)

or just try antimicro it will solve all your problems with gamepad emulation

btw you make 1 set where gamepad dpad and analog sticks are psp dpad and where gamepad dpad is dpad but analog sticks are psp analog

and than you just with 1 click switch between them

its allot better solution than going to ppsspp key bindings and adjusting it for different game

so think about it

RE: I can't make the Xbox 360 D-Pad/Right Analog work simultaneously
Since the 360 controller is known to have the crappiest D-Pad out of any controller.... It sounds like your controller is at fault here. I would test the controller out in another game. Like a PC game. Nothing PPSSPP related. If you are having that problem still then its definitely your controller.
