RE: PPSSPP lagging on Galaxy S4
The problem with the Tekken games is, that when frameskip is off, the game will run at like 50% of the intended speed.
Im actually getting good FPS on frameskip off, but as soon as i turn it to 3 it halves the FPS to like 6-12 FPS.

Intros, Movies and the Menu run at 100% speed when frameskip is off,
but when Frameskip is on 3 the Intro, Movies and Menu will stutter alot.
But when getting into the actual game/fights, it will have the reverse effect.
Only that it drops the FPS with frameskip in the fight.

It would be awesome if there was a way to increase the speed of the game without turning on frameskip, if thats even possible.

And with the newest build, Little Big Planet runs very smooth at 25-30 FPS on my Galaxy S4, since it doesn't require frameskip.

RE: PPSSPP lagging on Galaxy S4
Did you try the new hacks in Graphics settings? Enable the two options, it may help. These options are the last options in Graphics settings.

Phones: Poco F3 8GB/256GB (Snapdragon 870 5G) and Redmi Note 6 Pro 4/64GB (Snapdragon 636)

PC: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 / 16GB RAM DDR4 3600MHz / NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti 6GB / Windows 10 Pro

RE: PPSSPP lagging on Galaxy S4
The two options don't affect the performance (or atleast not by a single or two fps).
Instead they only cause graphical issues.

I keep getting around 7-14 FPS with frameskip 3 on Tekken Dark Resurrection.
Without Frameskip it runs smooth at around 20-24 FPS but for some reason at slow-mo gamespeed around 30-60% speed.

There are no big changes if its buffered, non-buffered or GPU rendering, with high or low render resolution,
multithreaded or not, and the CPU Clock doesn't affect it also, only the loading times.
Pretty much all settings get me the same results as above.

Could be the Full HD resolution or bad compatibility for the:
GPU: PowerVR SGX544MP3 (tri-core) @ 480 MHz
CPU: Exynos 5410 Octa-core CPU with 4x1.6Ghz A15 & 4x1.2Ghz A7 (powersaving) cores

The Aways Delph Write option disable some graphics effect to get more performance. The Disable Stencil Test, leave the screen a bit more dark.

The Tekken really is a game hard to emulate, is a lot heavy. We just can wait.

RE: PPSSPP lagging on Galaxy S4
It may be hard to emulate, but older devices like the Galaxy S3 still manage to run it clearly faster than the newer and stronger Galaxy S4.

The S3 Performance on Tekken 5 is really enjoyable.

RE: PPSSPP lagging on Galaxy S4
Well, maybe it's because since the emulator uses just one core, and the multithread is still experimental, the core used by ppsspp was the a7 1,2 ghz??? and plus full HD, surely will lag.

I have faced the same issue
however, with few changes in setting, ppsspp works fine.
If you can list game name, I can tell you the setting for the game

currently i am playing dragon ball, wwe 2011

Idea This is just an idea, i noticed you said your CPU is using Powersaving!!!
Now that tells me or gives me an idea that it maybe reducing the CPU's optimum speed to save on Battery power, am I right???

If so is there an option to turn that off, so the phone's CPU runs at its fastest & hopefully will speed up the emulator no end.

Try that & see if that helps. Idea
