Gamepad not being detected
I'm using a PS2 controller, connected via this accessory:

http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Joy-Box-PS2-...B000RLWF7I

I've already set up x360ce and placed the necessary files in the root PPSSPP folder, but when I actually start the emulator there's no indication that PPSSPP detects a gamepad. The controller doesn't work in-game and I can't remap its controls either. This is the only program where I've had this issue, as other games/applications/emulators all recognize the controller.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I'm stuck with the keyboard I'd rather not use PPSSPP at all.

RE: Gamepad not being detected
Normally you don't have to use x360ce...

Are you using the latest available build here ? If no, download it Wink

Anyway, given that you are new here, you should take a look at the Welcome Thread Smile

Thanks for the response. I actually initially tried using PPSSPP without x360ce. Now I know that neither option works. Undecided

I just updated to the most recent release [v0.9.1-27-g416f0c5 (Windows 64bit)] and still no luck. Does PPSSPP use a different method of controller detection than other emulators? My controller even works with jpcsp, but I'd much rather use PPSSPP because of the improved game performance and interface.

If I could make a suggestion, it would probably be better if PPSSPP offered a list of all available controllers to choose from and set the controls for specifically. That way I would definitively know what's going on in relation to my own controller instead of blindly pressing buttons under the x360 or pad categories. (I'll also bring this up in the Feature Request thread.)

I really want to play games on PPSSPP using a controller but at this point I don't even know why it's not being recognized.

That's strange... Undecided

Unfortunately I don't really know how to help you more given that your gamepad is working with other games, emulators, etc...

RE: Gamepad not being detected
@Blah3210: Do you happen to have more than one game controller plugged in, by chance? It's possible that PPSSPP is trying to use some other device instead of the one you're intending on using, if you do. I'd check the USB Game Controllers control panel to make sure your intended controller is the one set to "use with older programs" under the Advanced button.

RE: Gamepad not being detected
This one happened to me in the past with my logitech controller. You have to go to control panel > game controllers > advanced > select the device you want to use with older programs > choose your controller.

Otherwise, it won't work with ppsspp at all.

here's the thread where I exposed the issue and they provided me with this nice solution:
