RE: windows 8 vs windows 7
I'm not against linux or windows xp, the only things I hate about the latter are the 32 bit limitations, linux is good to use once/if you get the hang of it, but I'd focus on it only from a dev point of view (which I'm not, so...). Windows 8 interface is terrible for my tastes, also they took out some stuff, one of them is windows media player, I already know that many hated and never used it, considering so many players (I stick with classic HD which comes with k-lite/CCCP), but being unable to read from scratch a single video format is just stupid. Also the common drill of incompatibility when you switch to a new os.

They both suck.

Windows ME and 95 are the best.

RE: windows 8 vs windows 7
Windows 8 is incompatible with certain software that worked with windows xp, vista, and windows 7. Windows 8 bluetooth has many many many problems for example not being able to detect my other bluetooth devices, not being able to shut the bluetooth off, not being able to turn the bluetooth on.
in terms of personal preference id say windows 7 is the way to go!!..... its compatible with everything that ive tried

DESKTOP: Windows 7 professional, Asus motherboard Z97, Intel i7 4790k 4.0 ghz - 4.4 ghz boost, 16 gb Cosair ram 128 GB SSD (primary HD) 1TB (secondary HD) EVGA Nvidia GTX Titan Black

LAPTOP: Windows 8, ASUS, intel i7 3630QM 2.4-3.4 ghz boost 12 gb of ram primary HD 1TB SSD secondary HD 750 gb hd nvidia gtx 670mx

RE: windows 8 vs windows 7
Ahah I love linux too Wink

Anyway, except the crappy interface, the os has many optimisation too...

So.. there is an compatibility problem... That's suck.. only negative point now...

The bluetooth problem... Should be solved soon enough xD

I'll do some test tonight, I'll try my best to get the closest to the win7 interface Wink

RE: windows 8 vs windows 7
I'd say for those who seriously wanted dual OS-ing, you'd better go for either Win7+WinXP (7 for running 64bit apps & present day AAAA games, XP for running retro apps/games and whatever that 7 can't) or Win7+Linux.

Also you might want a Windows 98-installed virtual PC for lulz

RE: windows 8 vs windows 7
well nan winXP is dead. People should stop using it.

Dual booting different windows should be for testing purpose only... Win7 works great as main os too, but since I`ve got some problem on mine, I was hopping to do a fresh restart.

On linux, you should take the os with the better core, and then customize the interface the way you want. (and keep thinking about cpu usage.)

Windows can also be customized too. That`s why people shouldn`t consider a systeme for it`s interface ahah. Win8 has a great core.

RE: windows 8 vs windows 7
I agree with Razorback, I have personally a dual-boot with Windows 7 (for normal use) and Windows XP (in order to run some old games properly only) Wink

RE: windows 8 vs windows 7
There are some, especially old ones made for windows 95/98, plus you must count those which do not work on the 64-bit environment.

RE: windows 8 vs windows 7
As vnctdj said they will not work, virtualization can't handle heavy games nor apps. The dual boot is the wisest choice, although you are forced to reboot to switch between them.
