Dangan-Ronpa: Kibou no Gakuen to Zetsubou no Koukousei - NPJH50372
I have looked through forums and issues but no one else seems to have encountered and documented this issue, so I was wondering if anyone knew what is going on and/or how to fix it.

so PPSSPP works great, and Dangan Ronpa does too...until I get to the menu screen.

Upon selecting "new game," this textless black box appears.

Then upon selecting "yes," (Note: Selecting "no" takes me back to start menu.)

It tells me there is no save data, as there should be because I am creating a new game. However I cannot create a new game because with each attempt it tells me there is no save data. AngryAngry

Thanks.

Well, the dialog box is supposed to be asking you if you want to load demo saved data to receive a 'present'. Are you making sure to press X/Cross when answering no? Circle/O is cancel in this game(at least, it is with the English patch). As for why the text isn't appearing, it's probably a Wine glitch, I'd wager, since it shows up fine on Windows:

NPJH50372 can be different from NPJH50515 Undecided

♦ Intel Core i7-6700HQ | 16 GB RAM | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M | Debian Testing
♦ Intel Core i7-2630QM | 4 GB RAM | NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M | Debian Testing
♦ PSP-3004 | 6.60 PRO-C2

NPJH50515 is a "The Best" re-release.

NPJH50372 is the original release. I'm pretty sure I've gotten reports from both versions of the game working with PPSSPP's special Danganronpa hack.

But is there any differences in these 2 versions of the game ?
If no, should we merge the 2 threads ?

That's a pretty good question. Someone with both versions would have to compare the decrypted executable to see if it has any differences other than references to the game id, and also the other assets on the iso. It's not unheard of for there to be subtle changes or bugfixes.

RE: Dangan-Ronpa: Kibou no Gakuen to Zetsubou no Koukousei - NPJH50372
Sorry for the late bump, but I think I know what happened.
There are differences between releases (I haven't found any list of them, I think the original has a few less skills), and the English fan translation patch is only meant to be used with The Best rerelease.
If the OP is using the original as the ID he posted implies, but using the translation patch as his screenshots imply, he just mangled his copy of the game. He'd probably have the same problems here on a real PSP.
Although it probably works as well as The Best version, someone should properly test this version for the sake of compatibility lists.

Can anyone confirm if this release (the original, not the best) works fine without the English patch? i believe it does... perhaps we should close this unless a difference is found, after all. Probably most people won't pay attention to the game id when reporting / checking.
