PPSSPP crashes when pressing key to go to pause menu
I realized I posted this thread on the wrong section, so I deleted it and now posted it here on the development section which I think it is where it should be posted. My apologies for my mistake n.nU

I searched around the forum and I didn't find a thread about that, so I decided to make it.

You see. I tested PPSSPP v0.8.1-397-gab1b7e7 and v0.8.1-401-g76c3f16 and on both whenever I had a game running and then I pressed the esc key to go to the pause menu, the emulator ended crashing. You know the typical "PPSSP stopped working..." message.

According to Windows 7 Reliability report, the emulator crashes on atioglxx.dll. Here is the reliability report:

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: PPSSPPWindows.exe
Application Version: 1.0.0.0
Application Timestamp: 51d95ba4
Fault Module Name: atioglxx.dll
Fault Module Version: 6.14.10.11653
Fault Module Timestamp: 4ff3e437
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 01265b06
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
Locale ID: 2058

I tried disabling the Catalyst A.I. for PPSSPP and it still crashed.

I think some modification made on v0.8.1-397-gab1b7e7 on the mapping part caused the problem, since I tested all the builds from v0.8.1-370-g87f6d14 to v0.8.1-396-gd5f4933 and the pause menu worked correctly on all of them. The problem started on v0.8.1-397-gab1b7e7 when the pause and F3 keys got mappable.

So far other than that, the emulator works fine. The key mapping seems to work as it should be.

I thought in tell you so you can take a look at the issue.

Thanks in advance and keep up the good work Smile

RE: PPSSPP crashes when pressing key to go to pause menu
Seems to be an ATI/Intel only issue.

If you have a controller, bind a button to the pause menu as a workaround.

RE: PPSSPP crashes when pressing key to go to pause menu
The odd thing is that the pause menu with the keyboard was working fine on all the previous builds up to v0.8.1-396-gd5f4933.

Starting with v0.8.1-397-gab1b7e7 the emulator started to crash when trying to access to the emulator's pause menu

Edit: The pause menu works again in v0.8.1-429-gbab3027 with its keyboard key.

It seems the issue was that fbo_unbind when pausing, unless the fix was the typo fixed on v0.8.1-428-g3281aa5.

The important is that the pause menu works again Smile
