PPSSPP crash on Windows 8

RE: PPSSPP crash on Windows 8
Meanwhile, I have no antivirus or third-party firewall that would be interfering with the program, and I've added an exception to the program in the built-in firewall.

And it still crashes.

RE: PPSSPP crash on Windows 8
What is your GPU?

the crash seems to be coming out of broken Catalyst driver file (aticfx32.dll)

Please recreate the crash with the attached build and provide the dump

My GPU is a Radeon HD 7950 and I'm running Catalyst version 13.6 Beta 2.
I tried running the debug program but I get an error box titled "PPSSPPDebug.exe - System Error" with the message "The program can't start because MSVCR100D.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Nothing else appears.

RE: PPSSPP crash on Windows 8
You can get these (msvcp100d.dll and msvcr100d.dll) from here and put them in the ppsspp folder

I find it odd that it works for some people on win8 but not others.
Maybe its a case of some people run the emulator using a Administrator status.
Maybe the people who are having trouble with the emulator are using the laptop or Desktop computer as a guest account.

RE: PPSSPP crash on Windows 8
its not specifically a win8 issue, so x86/x64 is a non issue.

RE: PPSSPP crash on Windows 8
Im running ppssppWindows64 0.8-1-g3a3fbfc on a windows 8 and it works amazingly well. I have only tried final fantasy 1,2 and crisis core but audio and gameplay are fine so far. I couldn't even get to menus on either game in earlier versions.

I'm the admin of this computer, so that's not the problem.

RE: PPSSPP crash on Windows 8
the debug log shows you have a non windows file loaded into the process "ltc_help32-68721.dll" (Raptr In-Game Overlay)

It is possible this overlay is crashing the process
